You're right. No need to overthink.

I think you said I was working at a low level for the mobsters. If the mobsters I was working for are the ones that committed the murder, and assuming I knew they were mobsters, I would have to cover it up. After all, I was collecting a paycheck from them despite knowing what business they are in. If Tony offered me $10 million to do it, so much the better. I I worked for the mobster that got murdered I would tell the others in the organization and let them kill Tony and other mobsters in that organization. In that way I would be in the good graces of the mobsters I work for, and the mobsters in the other group would be dead and I wouldn't have to testify.
Oh, just come out of the closet and make a decision already!:muttley:

I think you gotta take the witsec deal. Even if I decide to take the money, I become a very expensive loose end. What if Tony changes his mind or if Ralphie becomes boss and decides I know too much and remembers the saying "the only way to keep a secret between two people is if one of them is dead". Now I'm back in the same situation, but the cops aren't too eager if they know I took the money in the first place. That's when you think, I shoulda just done the right thing in the first place.

If Jenny really is the love of my life, the best way to keep her safe, is to keep her away from me.

I think I’d be more freaked out that my girl is a driver for the mob. Since when did the mafia start inducting women?

I take the money but ask the mob to let me in. That's the only way it works.

This is a hypothetical moral dilemma. Those things are rarely perfectly realistic, for example, the moral dilemmas where you can switch which train track a locomotive is on, choosing which people get killed. That would almost certainly not happen in real life, just as you're probably not going to get offered 10 mil by the mob to falsely testify.

Just have fun with it. Do you go against the mob and get their guy convicted, going into witness protection? Or do you do what the mob wants and get rich?

Hypothetically, if the mob could get you wacked for $5 Gs, why would they pay you $10 million to be quiet?

Okay ******!. I'm living the rest of my days in Tahiti, with an assumed name, my chick by my side, and supported by a $10MM bank account

Same here. I'm taking the bucks and getting out of dodge, except I don't want the girl. I'll leave her and find a new one on whatever island paradise I go to and change my name.

I had the same thought about the girl, but option #2 indicated taking her along, so I wasn't sure if it was a package deal where I had to do that.

Of course, you did offer option #3 (Other), so I guess dumping Jenny would fit with that.

Yeah, Jenny's probably a lot of fun now, but who knows what she'll be like in ten years. Maybe she'll get mad and out you. So, buh-bye, Jenny.
