For crying out loud, I am not one of these idiots calling to bench him for Randle, but a little coaching could improve his game. I mean after Randle's TD in the game thread people were calling Murray expendable. I am not that stupid.

But sheesh, a little more situational awareness wouldn't hurt. We should have had seven on that drive.

I agree. And I am one of Murray's biggest supporters. Running backwards is almost always a bad idea.

I thought he deserved to take the entire 4rth Qtr off but I doubt he would have let them sit him down. He was a man possessed out there...

I have noticed the last couple weeks he tries to dance around a little instead of hitting the hole hard.

Not to run backwards when we are in easy TD range that will put the game away. I mean its a minor thing......

That happened after he had carried 25 times, caught quite a few passes, and had just made a 40 yard run. The coaches should have pulled him for a play or two so he could catch his breath, IMO. Actually, I thought that was SOP.

It's probably the result of all the 8 man fronts--waiting for a blocker to get to the next level, or expecting the holes to be jammed and to have to bounce the ball out. But you're right. There was one play tonight where he hit the hole like a house a'fire, and I thought to myself 'what the heck just happened?'

The only thing he needs to do better is keep the ball to his side and not carry it like a loaf of bread with wide open space between the ball and his body. This is why he has issues at times with fumbles.

His only mistake was turning a 2nd and 12 into 2nd and 24. I'm sure he learned something right there that no one needs to point out. I wish Dez would learn something...that was wrong time to throw a hissy fit on sideline when we took a FG instead of throwing on third and long.

That's what I was thinking also. He did a great job, but realistically, even though it was garbage time ... we were in a bit of danger.

Run forward. Don't dance around. Definitely don't run backwards for 14 yard losses.

But I think the backup RB's need to get a few more carries. 31 carries for Murray is great, but he needs a spell once and a while.

Umm, he stayed in bounds when he needed to at the end of the game. Oh yeah and he didn't fumble. What more do you want out of him?

There have been a number of times he cuts back into the pursuit. If he would just stay outside he would save himself a lot of unwarrented punishment and get bigger gains.

He played the same game he always does...and sometimes that leaves a bit to be desired. Hard to really complain about his production.

Its hard to criticize a RB with his numbers and I'll be nitpicking here but there are things Murray could improve on. First and foremost is his vision. If you look for it, you will see him leave huge yards on the field by simply running to contact when there are big holes just a few feet away. I notice it at least 5 to 6 times a game. If he had better vision and ran to daylight, I think he might be close to 2000 yards already. Randle's TD is a perfect illustration. I think Murray would have only gained 1-2 yards on that play because he would have just run right into the pile. Something else I started to notice 2 games ago is that he always seems to want to go right. If the play starts left, he seems to always cut it back to the right. Those holes he doesn't see always seem to be to the left. I'm going to watch for this in coming games to see if I'm correct. Secondly, he doesn't cover the nose of the football when he carries it. He hasn't fumbled lately but carrying it that way is a fumble waiting to happen on every play. I know all this no big deal for a RB having one of the best seasons ever but no player is perfect.

I only have 2 problems with Murray...

1. The way he carries the ball

2. Lack of vision / not running to daylight

Other then that he is awesome and his ability to impose his will on a defense is what seperates him.

He is in the midst of what might end up being the greatest regular season for a Cowboys running back.

This thread is beyond nitpicking.

And yet, how many yards has he accumulated this yr? This reminds of the fat guy giving advice to the ripped muscular guy at the gym.

This is worth repeating an infinite number of times in this thread.

That was a pretty bad play, but Jeez ratio of good plays to bad ones is enormous. Nothing to complain about
