Mutual Embarrassment

Both the Skins and Cowboys looked pathetic today and didn't represent the NFC East well at all...losing to NFC West teams.

Unless something changes soon the division is going to be gift-wrapped to the Giants.

I normally love a Cowboys loss, but I am still sick over how we lost to the Rams that I can't even enjoy seeing the Cards win.

I know what you mean. I wasn't surprised the Cowboys lost. I was surprised at how they lost. I thought it would be a shootout and not the bumbling crap I saw today.

there may be some mutual embarassment, but no matter how you slice it, the Commanders own the lions share of it. Skins lost to a winless, incredibly mediocre football team, on their HOME turf. Dallas lost to a somewhat talented cardinals team, in arizona.

Both teams are better than how they played. The skins dominated statistically but beat themselves to death. Same thing for the cowboys. Time to rebound next week.

The Commanders losing today was an embarrassment, even if downright fluky

If Pete Kendall doesn't think he is the 300 lbs wonder running the ball, the Commanders cruise to a win

That play cost the Commanders a game we should have easily won.

Really, your boy Romo is really tearing it up in the turnover category this year, I can see big things from the Cowboys with him at QB.

Standings

NYG 4-0
Was 4-2
Dallas 4-2
Iggles 3-3

That 26-24 win really helps us :)

You had a golden chance to move ahead of us and didn't take advantage of the opportunity. Awful to lose on a blocked punt in OT just awful

Even more awful to know your Boys are not invincible as you thought a month ago

And that right now is the difference between our 2 teams. Yours has not played well for 3 weeks now.

Ours loses on one of the dumbest plays in the history of the NFL, an o-lineman thinking he can run with a football and fumbling it away, providing a pathetic team with a 10-14 point swing, which directly leads to them winning

I'll take Portis, 129 yards and 2 TDs any day of the week. You can keep mr fumble at QB

Your smack is incredibly weak, coming 2 weeks after we went into your house and slapped your 'Boys around for an afternoon

Beh-it looked like the Skins were just spent coming off 2 very emotional NFCE road games. It happens-noone goes undefeated b/c there are those weeks where the gas tanks are hard to fill.

AZ may be a good team, but we looked very flat too-no excuses.

The Iggs didn't look any better-they can thank JT O'Sullivan for putting on his Sage Rosenfels impersonation late in the game.

.

Needless to say, you still beat the Rams. Very dissapointed in the way my boys played yesterday, even if it was that play that cost the game

Gotta beat the cupcakes because there aren't too many in the NFL

I can't enjoy the Skins loss cause the Cowboys went out and proved, again, that they just don't seem to care if they win or lose. We had the momentum in hand, had a 14-7 lead, and had them at 3rd and 17 on their next possession. Get them off the field, they go 3 and out, and our Offense is right back on the field to take advantage, again, of a defense that hadn't gotten a lot of rest.

Instead we some how, even after tipping the friggen ball, allow them to convert a 3rd and 17 and lost all the momentum we'd gained.

Yes, I know, we did a fantastic job of getting back into, after that, but it doesn't matter. If you take care of business at that point, right there, in the game then you've taken it away from them. We had a chance to get our offense back on the field, score again, and take the life out of them.

Instead, again, we allowed them to stay in it and lost cause of it.

4-2 and having beaten us, btw, means they are certainly on our level. Stop being a dumb homer. When you have the exact same record, and they beat us in our house, it means they're exactly on our level. To say anything else, at this time, is just blatantly stupid.

The funny thing is that ES posters are talking smack about our loss after losing to the worst team in the league at home on the same day. Definition of stupid. It just proves most Foreskin fans hate us more than they love their own team. That is simply an undisputed fact. Pitiful but true.

might want to look up what the definition of a "fact" really is.

Why don't you teach your fellow Commander fans some Class like you show.

The same reason we're not able to teach some of our fans the exact same thing.

Let's all take a breath here. This was a decent thread before someone said the Commanders "suck and so does Jason Campbell and not on the Cowboys level." Obviously stinging from losing a tough game and losing Romo for 4 weeks.

It's a tough Monday for both fan bases and we are all very thin skinned today. Let's not throw stones, I think we all live in glass houses this week.

I did not see the Cowboys game so I can't comment. But as for the Skins -- it would be worse if the Rams lit us up to the tune of 400 yards and beat us. But they didn't. We gave them that game. All of the luck we've had early in this season all got reversed in one game. I was a lineman in HS -- every coach from pee-wee on up teaches one thing: KNOCK THAT BALL DOWN! That was at least a 10 point swing. We shot ourselves repeatedly in the foot and the Rams took advantage of that. Good for them.

So the season goes on. For both teams.

The Cowboys have a bye and St. Louis -- who they should still crush, unless they turn the ball over umpteen thousand times like we did. Tampa is a tough game as is the Giants. They will still make the playoffs. It ain't over yet, for either of us.

Who should feel more embarrassed? The Skins or Cowboys? It's not an easy question to answer. The Skins just lost at home to an 0-4 team that had been blown out by the Giants and Eagles. Changing head coaches and the bye week were an opportunity for the Rams to find a momentary spark and they took advantage. The Cowboys lost away to a good Cardinals team. However the Cowboys were +2 in turnovers which could be interpreted to mean that the next time the two teams played, if the Cardinals were able to just be even with the Cowboys in turnover differential that they would win more easily. The Skins on the other hand were -2 in turnover differential, something that won't happen every game, knock on wood. In the end, I think the Skins loss was worse, and it's disappointing that we weren't able to overcome our mistakes against a bad team. However the Cowboys have to wonder why they couldn't put the Cardinals away even being +2 in turnovers.

Just in this thread. I'll only dish it out when I have to, I don't like to leave mud in someone else's house. My mother did teach me some manners, even if I can get a bit salty

But really, its all in good fun. I really enjoy good smack talking and do so with my Cowboys fan boss on a daily basis
