MW3 for XBox 360

Im picking up my copy after work today and i'll be on it tonight.

Has anyone played it yet? What are your thoughts if you have.

I've got it for the PS3

I'm personally a little disappointed, mostly in the maps. I like variety and IMO, all the maps this time around are very "tight", not so much small, as very close quarters. Not much open space.

Don't get me wrong, I like tight maps, but I also like wide open maps for when I'm in the mood for sniping. I've always had my personal favorite maps in every COD installment...but after putting in 8 hours of game time with MW3, I don't have a single favorite. They're all the same to me. Don't hate them, just don't love any either.

Other than that it's the same COD we all know and love

I want to play the game so bad but If i play for longer than 30 minutes I feel like I need to hurl.

The maps are pretty tight cornered IMO and a little lack luster. I enjoyed playing it so far, but it does have a bit of an arcade feel to it. Kill/Confirm is pretty cool.

I played it and I'm definately liking it.

The maps seem to be quite a bit bigger than the standard Modern Warfare maps but they're very tight quartered and stuff. There isn't a whole lot of open areas, at all, and so you wind up feeling like you've got people all around you, all the time.

It's pretty fun.


Kill confirmed is definately a good addition. I enjoyed it but for me I'll have to wait for more of it till I learn teh maps a lot better where I can run and gun a lot better.


I'm more of a move at a slow, careful, pace around the map to play these games and right now it's pretty hard to do that on this one with the over abundance of UAV's that are always in the air. lol


I'm enjoying it though and I definately look forward to hooking up with some of the Zoners in the coming days for some MW3 fun.

Kill confirmed is definately a good addition.

The odd thing about this is CoD has mostly be dominated by Run and Gun deathmatch modes. This Kill Confirm seems more of a team play which seems to go against the most popular style of play for CoD. Though I suppose collecting team kills by incidentally coming across teammates kill would also work. It could also make for extremely long games if team play isn't utilized.

The two biggest differences I see between CoD and BF is in most BF modes, team play is required (or you lose) and in CoD it is not. The second is the level of realism in the how the game plays.

Overall, I think it's the Team Play that divides the majority of War FPS game players between the two games. Those that prefer Team Play usually prefer to play Battlefield games. Those that prefer "Spawn - Run and Gun" style tend to play Call of Duty.

I used to pretty much only play Team Deathmatch. That has changed quite a bit recently. Battlefield games make joining clans (especially ones that utilize TeamSpeak) much more beneficial.
