direct quote form stephen jones

"Yeah, we gotta look at that," Jones said. "Obviously, it's a bigger deal now, with Tony injured. And I'm sure he'd understand it. But if we draft the guy [in the first round], we're drafting him to watch. And that's the hard thing. He could be watching for three years, but that's not all bad. It can be a good thing for them. Tony got to watch for a long time -- it helped him. Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, players like that -- guys that have stepped in and played great -- got to watch."

I believe they will look at all Qbs,I like the top 3 guys but not really interested in the others as a franchise QB.

Lol yeah and jerry clarified them statements lol. I got u covered bro

There are no transcendent players...no can't miss prospects this year.

This is a buyers market. I see few teams giving us market value for pick four. There simply isn't a player teams are going to covet.

Someone is going to fall in Love with Goff or Lynch, it never fails with the QB's. That is our ticket.

I would take

Treadwell in the 1st
Wentz in the 2nd
Booker in the 3rd

We need a flux in new offensive talent to go along with the oline . Our defense despite our last ranked offense finished 12th overall . We couldn't get turnovers because we never had a lead. Put up 30 points a game next year and this defense would finish top 10 easy .

4. cowboys - phones ringing, stephen on the phone gives the thumbs up fist bumps all around. Dallas trades 4th pick to Saints(11). Dallas gets RD1(11) RD2 and RD4 picks. Saints pick Jared Goff QB Cal

It would take a lot more for me to move out of the top 5 than a 2nd and 4th.

Before the draft Dallas trades 6th round pick gotten in the Butler trade to CLE for Johnny Manziel. I dont like or hate this trade. I like what he does on the field, he just needs to keep his headlines there, on the field. With the support system Dallas has this team is the one team that can give Manziel what he needs. They have done it with Dez, and did it for Tyron but no fault of Tyron but provided him security against his family and helped him with the legal process. I think Jerry wants him in Dallas.

Dallas Free Agents
Ron Leary RD2 tender
Casey Walker ERFA is locked in no matter what unless dallas releases him i dont see that
Charles Brown Vet min
Jeremy Mincey light deal (1yr)
Morris Claiborne 1 yr deal with options for future yrs(prove it contract)

FreeAgents
Nick Fairley DT Could be brought in on a friendly deal. Could replace Hayden

Draft

Round 1
1.titans - Laremy Tunsil T Ole Miss
2. Browns - Paxton Lynch QB Memphis
3. chargers - trade with Ravens. Ravens take Joey Bosa
4. cowboys - phones ringing, stephen on the phone gives the thumbs up fist bumps all around. Dallas trades 4th pick to Saints(11). Dallas gets RD1(11) RD2 and RD4 picks. Saints pick Jared Goff QB Cal
5. niners - A'shawn Robinson DL Bama
6. jaguars - Jalen Ramsey S Florida State
7. dolphins - Ronnie Staley T ND
8. chargers - Laquon Treadwell WR Ole Miss
9. giants - Emannuel Ogbah DE Oklahoma state
10 bears - Vernon Hargreaves III CB Florida
11. cowboys - Myles Jack LB UCLA
His coverage ability and his tackling make him a perfect fit for this defense at the Mike. He's a 3 down LBer. And he can even stay in on dime situations as he can cover WRs too. He's the type of player who can take this defense to the next phase.

Round 2
Jayron Kearse S Clemson
Big safety who has the speed and the range to team up with Byron Jones and solidify that backend. Aggressive and isnt affraid to hit.

Round 2(NO)
Kendall Fuller CB Virginia Tech
Aggressive and smart. ****** CB who can deal with the bigger WRs on the outside.

Round 3
Sheldon Day DT ND
Dallas need passsrushers in the middle. Sheldon needs to develop his hands to keep blockers off him, but he is lightning quick off the snap. Coming in on them 3rd and longs will be a great start for him.

Round 4(NO)
Alex Collins RB Arkansas
Lower body power for them tough yrds. McFadden will be starting in 2016 but a player like Collins would make for a player to come in and sustain them long drives and covert them FGs into Tds in the redzone.

RD4(COMP)
Anthony Zettle DL Penn State
Built for the strong side and the 3tech for this defense. Build up numbers in this defensive front and you will see results.

RD6(OAK)
Tevin Carter S Utah
Can play both S spots and even move into the slot. Had a big game in utah's bowl game. Smart player good depth and ST player

RD6(COMP)
Glen Gronkowski FB Kansas State
He can do it all, run, block and receive. Of course he will only be asked to block and he does that very good.

I haven't really gotten into these guys on your board.

Plenty of time for that.

But..

When you suggest a trade back to take a LBer..

you lost me.

There is no way I want to have endured this season and come out with a LBer.

And I realize you ate saying the multiple picks are going to make up the difference.

But Jerry tried that in the past.

It didn't work then and won't work now.

We need playmakers and guys thay can score.

We tried all year to win with an offense that couldn't score more than 14 a game.

The defense played well enough to win 5-6 more games but we had no scoring.

LBers are not going to change that. In Marinelli's defense..they are not a priority.

So I think you are certainly trying to enlighten us and I appreciate it..

but i hope you are wrong.

No offense,bro.

If you dont think a LBer will change this defense all you have to do is look at the difference between when Sean Lee played and when he didnt . And you dont have to look any further. I understand that people dont really know about Myles jack other then whats reported in highlights. But those on the west coast know this guy changes what a offense wanted to do vs UCLa because of him. He'sd a rare athlete, but he's a rare athlete that has the football skills to back it up.

hope to see him in the Final, havent seen him play in a live game.

Good chance your wish comes true..............tune in Sat. morning at 11:00 central for the FCS champ game in Frisco Texas......

The Redshirt Freshman Easton Stick who won 9 straight after Wentz got hurt and got them back to the Champ game for the 5th straight year, made a class move last week, taking the pressure off of the Coach when he stated he had no problem with Wentz getting the go ahead to play and start.......... its an example of why that team has won 4 straight championships and is vying for a 5th

P.S.-------a movement started among Bison fans to go down some early and attempt to help out the Tornado victims from last weeks storms.......

Punctured lung what happened in the outcome of that game? And did he play the following week? His disc problems are no more

Sure.. I get it. We've had no indications over the last few years to give us concern about Romo's health and availability going forward. We can probably count on him to last into his late 40's at least... /sarcasm . Romo has been hurt/injured a lot over the last few years. If you refuse to acknowledge that then I'm not sure what you're seeing or what mind altering substance you're using. This year alone is a microcosm of circumstances that make fans realize that we need to prepare for life without Romo (and soon). Please tell me that you aren't one of those people who think we should wait until he has a career ending injury or his skill level falls off a cliff before we get his replacement in line. You want to get a blue chip prospect now so that he can learn from one of the best in the business, not wait until it's too late.

It's the nfl. All players get hurt. Let's see what qb that doesn't take the hit romo took this ur that doesn't break their collar bone. I'm all for the team drafting a qb. But I'm also dead set against that qb being the 4 overall pick. Wentz at the top of round 2 or trading up into the end of re 1 would make a lot of sense to me too.

One thing to remember about JJ, he has always said, and most years done it also.........if there is a glareing need (backup QB), its a issue that gets taken care of before the draft, JJ hates to have his hand forced in the draft if past history is any indication. I'm not pro or con, but JFF does that.

I don't see either of the spread off QB's as worthy of top 5 picks, as their transition to the NFL is mathematically very hard. Not worth the risk when there are glareing other needs to be addressed with a trade down if possible and as LMind says, a trade back up into the late 1st with ammo if things fall right.

The FO has given plenty of signals that they recognize the issue with Romo's health.
Jones addressed this today. I certainly have no idea what approach they take but
taking Manziel over Goff would look like the Day of the Locust around this board.
Please apologize to the board and take two aspirin.

I think Cowboys fans think the team's support system is a miracle factory. Johnny Manziel has a SERIOUS drinking problem that not even rehab could cure. You think the Cowboys support system is better than what Johnny is going to get at a rehab center?

Leave Johnny out of this. He isn't worth the trouble.
