Only 4 rounds.... Im dumb.

1st round- Jared Odrick DE/DT PSU- Could be the best player on the board at 28. He looks to be the ideal 3-4 DE. Hes big 6'5 300lbs and is also a solid athlete. Aside from trading up I really dont see a player that will be available at 28 at a position of high need(S, OT), so a player like Odrick that can come in and play right away is ideal.

2nd round- Chad Jones S LSU- S is obviously a need, and Chad is a freak of nature athlete that played CB early in his college career so his coverage skills are definitely up to par. Still a bit raw, but worth the risk in the 2nd round.

3rd round- Jared Veldheer OT Hillsdale- This kid is 6'8 and put up 32 reps of 225. Obviously played at a very small school, but was dominate there. Could be a high reward OT worth the risk in the 3rd round.

4th round- Brandon Spikes ILB Florida- Huge drop for Spikes. Character issues + really bad work out #'s make him drop this far. He was very successful in the best conference in college football and still knows how to get it done on the football field if you ask me.

Maybe he traded the sixth and seventh for a fifth?

Ooops. Yeah guess I should have checked what picks we actually have before I did that. Just nix Verner. As Im reading further it sounds like hes shooting up the draft boards anyway and probably wont be available that late in the 5th anyway.

Still like my first 4 picks though

Jared Odrick isnt even a great player let alone take him when we have bigger needs

2 questions:

What exactly is your beef with him? Why do you not view him as an option?

And
Im aware of our bigger needs, but who exactly will be available at 27 that fills those needs? I really dont see the point in over drafting just to fill a need personally.

He isnt elite while playing a position where we have players. And he plays a position where you can find bodies later.

Would you trade our 1st rounder for Tyson Jackson?

Were just not taking Odrick

He didnt play the position in college that he is going to play for us, so how can you judge him? And how elite of a player do you plan to get at the 27th pick?
And Tyson Jackson? Probably? Depends on who is left at our pick. Spears is pretty mediocre, and more than likely gone after this year anyway. Getting his replacement now wouldnt be a bad idea.

Like I said, I would love to get a S or OT with our 1st pick, but who? Taylor Mays? No thanks? Nate Allen? Reach. I would love to see Earl Thomas, Anthony Davis or Trent Williams fall to us, but I just dont see it happening.

I saw him on replay tonight againest LSU in whatever bowl game they played in - I think I heard his name once - I be mighty pissed if we draft him in the first

altho Chad Jackson dam that boy can hit - not sure about his coverage skills - but he was all over the field

so were Sean Hill an N Bowman

Spears wasnt mediocre, he was solid. People thik he was b/c he didnt put up stats, something Odrick wouldnt do, hed be another Spears.

Its tricky to judge all these guys b/c of the mitigating factors. Both Mays and ET played so far back.

Id trade up before it got to that b/c I think en elite guy like Iupati should in range

Id rather have Iupati than Odrick and a 4th
