Surprising development with Gurode makes things interesting. Thought I would throw out a roster with youth in mind.

Tony Romo, Jon Kitna
, Stephen McGee 2/3

Felix Jones, DeMarco Murray, Phillip Tanner 3/3 (trade Choice)(Tanner plays STs)

Jason Witten, Martellus Bennett, John Phillips, Martin Rucker 4/4

Dez Bryant, Miles Austin, Kevin Ogletree, Jesse Holley (ST), Dwayne Harris, Raymond Radway 4/6 (Keep Radway - upside with speed)

Doug Free, Montrae Holland, Phil Costa, Kyle Kosier, Tyron Smith, Bill Nagy, Sam Young, David Arkin, Jermey Parnell 7/9 (trade Gurode?)(Really young, Nagy back ups C/G on gameday, Young is swing tackle by default, Parnell too green)

20 offense actives/25 offense roster

Marcus Spears, Jay Ratliff, Kenyone Coleman, Jason Hatcher, Josh Brent, Sean Lissemore 6/6

DeMarcus Ware, Keith Brooking, Bradie James, Anthony Spencer, Victor Butler, Sean Lee, Kenwin Cummings, Alex Albright 8/8 (pup Bruce Carter) (Albright or B Williams, went with the rookie)

Mike Jenkins, Terence Newman, Abram Elam, Gerald Sensabaugh, Orlando Scandrick, Alan Ball, Barry Church, Danny McCray (ST), Bryan McCann (KR),
Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, Josh Thomas 9/11 (Thomas or Butler, going with draft pick who is also faster)

23 defense actives/25 defense roster

Matt McBriar, David Buehler, LP Ladoucer 3/3Avezzano claims they still have attachment with Buehler and may go with him gm 1 and then decide after that if they want to pick up a vet.

PS
Orie Lemon
Andrew Zendejo
Mario Butler
Clifton Geathers
Chris Gronkowski
Sean Chapas
Kevin Kowalski
Lonyae Miller

If Brandon Williams is eligible and available maybe him over one of the FBs. Bailey? Lyle Leong? Other teams players will be added I'm sure but I don't have a crystal ball for that.

Radway and Harris over Holley any day of the week. One decent game by Holley doesn't change the fact that he's been outplayed by both of those guys all of Training Camp. Also Bryan McCann hasn't shown any value to this team. He's terrible in coverage, and cannot tackle.

Holley and McCann are STs players, I expect Holley to be on all the coverage units and he's a guy they trust to come in and know the offense in case of injury-rooks are green in that department. I also expect McCann to return kick offs and punt returns (when Dez doesn't get them) (McCann is listed as the #1 returner on KR and #2 behind Dez on PR)and can also help on the nickel stuff. If McCann isn't on the team then they have to activate rookie Harris who doesn't appear ready to add wr role yet and takes away from cb depth on gameday. So Holley and McCann combo makes the best sense to me.

It just depends on how much JG values "ST players." He already said that the new kickoff rules will play a factor into the decisions. Remember during the season, most of these kickers will be trying to kick the ball out of the end zone which will neutralize players like McCann and Holley.

There's still punt teams and both guys can add backup roles that the rooks are generally not ready for.

Yeah, but punt coverage is not looked at the same way as kickoff coverage. A guy has to do more than just cover punts in order to make the team this year. I just like to watch all of the preseason games before I say who will make the team and who will not. We all have our favorites, but we really have to wait until that final preseason game before we can really make final judgments on who will be on the roster.

I realize Parnell is green but you can't go into the season with Sam Young as your swing T. You can find a better option once cuts are made. The guy is a stiff.
