Wow. Hard to argue with almost all of your choices!

Changes:
- Jason Witten over Billy Joe Dupree (a bit overrated, great name though)
- Lee Roy Jordan as MLB (over sentimental fav Eugene Lockhart)
- Ken Norton Jr. at OLB (a bit weak, but can't put in DeMarcus yet)
- Darren Woodson over Cornell Green
- Rafael Septien (yeah, I know, but focusing on talent...)

I'd find a way to put in Herschel Walker at fullback :))

Godfrey was NOT better then Jordan- Jordan was there for 13 seasons- unheard of for a MLB.
I pick Cliff Harris and Charlie Waters as a duo since they worked so well together.
Have to agree that Hollywood made plays.
Gotta go with the Moose at FB.
TE is a pick em- remember we also had Ditka.
Stepnoski does it for me at center.

Ray Donaldson was at the end of the road when he played here, I wouldnt take him ahead of Stepnoski...I'd take Harvey Martin over Ed Jones...Randall Godfrey was a good MLB but he wasnt anywhere near the player Lee Roy Jordan was...hell Godfrey wasnt even as good at MLB as Ken Norton was (the one yr he played MLB)...for the other OLB spot I'd have to say Thomas Henderson, who was a dominating player before drugs did him in...I'd put Waters or Woodson on the field ahead of Cornell Green...Johnston was a better FB than Springs, who was a nice all around FB but not anywhere near the blocker Moose was...gotta give Robert Newhouse some pub too

Only thing I could consider changing would be FB. You have Robert Newhouse or Daryl Johnston to choose from. I might go with Newhouse. Dude had the biggest thighs in the history of mankind. He was a good blocker, not much of a runner though.

Out of all of this I find it quite amazing that Tony Dorsett, one of the NFL's all time greats, wouldn't be able to crack the Cowboys all-time team's starting lineup. I can remember watching him play and I never thought I'd see a Cowboys runner with half the skills he had. Of course now that I have seen Emmitt play I think the same thing about him. We have been very spoiled over the years with our stable of RBs.

Newhouse was a suprisingly good runner for a full back. Gained 930 yards in a 14 game season and 721 yards during Dorsetts first season. Not too bad for a fullback. The 721 is better than Springs, Newsome or Moose ever had in a season.

Darren Woodson has to be on the list as one of the safeties.

I like Ray Donaldson, but he was barely in Dallas. His best years were not in Big D. Raffferty and Stepnoski are very good centers. I don't know about older guys, but I trust our elder statesman that vouch for centers before my time.

I was a big fan of Randall Godfrey and was disappointed that he was allowed to walk. Dallas only got one season out of him at MLB. That doesn't qualify him as one of the all time great Cowboys. Lee Roy is the best there.

Overall, there have been some nice lists put together. What a deep team.

Henderson was only around too few seasons due to drugs, but he was wonderful when he played.

I will argue. Drew Pearson, Tony Hill and Lance Alworth were all better than Golden Richards.

So everyone's picking Staubach over Aikman?! Go figure. Much be a bunch of "old" guys on here who actually saw both of them play.

Sorry "younguns" Aikman was great but Staubach had that Elway, Montana quality where you never felt you were out of a game because he could just make things happen.
You know, you could lean down to your son or daughter and say with the greatest honesty in the world. "I know we're down 2 TD's and there's only a couple of minutes left but it ain't over yet!"

TE Jay Novacek

I tried to focus on guys who made their names as Cowboys, so I docked points from Deion and from Haley, though to a lesser extent. I also tried to stay away from guys who flashed for a couple of years but didn't make lengthy contributions, eliminating Thomas Henderson.

I thought the easiest choices were Rayfield Wright, Larry Allen, Michael Irvin, Bob Lilly and Randy White, Lee Roy Jordan, Chuck Howley, Mel Renfro and Cliff Harris. All of these guys belong in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and spent their careers as Cowboys.

Other guys would have been easy choices if not for the competition (Emmitt versus Dorsett, Staubach versus Aikman, Drew Pearson versus Bob Hayes, Nate Newton versus Blaine Nye, Woodson versus Waters and Cornell Green)...

What an amazing roster of players the Cowboys have fielded!

I count Dave Edwards among the most underrated players in Cowboys history. A solid linebacker who kept some awfully good players on the bench and was consistent for a long period of time. Nye is also underrated. He and John Niland formed a great pair of guards when that position wasn't any less glamorous than tackle.

I thought fullback was the biggest logjam - Johnston, Don Perkins (when the position was different), Walt Garrison and Robert Newhouse all having great claims...

Finally, if I were putting together a real "team" from the all-time Cowboys roster, I don't think I could cut Garrison, Don Merideth, Jethro Pugh or Perkins...
