I like Ron Springs, but I would have to go with Moose at FB.
MOose was definitely a better blocker...it was just my personal preference to have a more versatile guy at FB...I even considered Walt Garrison, but Springs was a bigger, faster version...still a guy who was a great receiver, great with the screen passes, and a good runner.

I can't argue with that list.

Maybe Danny White as punter........great backup QB as well.
Bingo...I didn't even think of him.

all worthy candidates...my personal preference was for a big, bruising traditional TE...besides, Ditka made the HOF...Novachek never will...pretty one dimensional.

I almost went with Garrison at FB....I love Manders at Center, but no way Step was as good as Ray Donaldson...Donaldson was a beast, imo.

I almost went with Martin over TooTall, but haley is the best dE to ever play in Dallas, imo.

Ray Donaldson was at the end of the road when he played here, I wouldnt take him ahead of Stepnoski...I'd take Harvey Martin over Ed Jones...Randall Godfrey was a good MLB but he wasnt anywhere near the player Lee Roy Jordan was...hell Godfrey wasnt even as good at MLB as Ken Norton was (the one yr he played MLB)...for the other OLB spot I'd have to say Thomas Henderson, who was a dominating player before drugs did him in...I'd put Waters or Woodson on the field ahead of Cornell Green...Johnston was a better FB than Springs, who was a nice all around FB but not anywhere near the blocker Moose was...gotta give Robert Newhouse some pub too

David
All good points...and good call on Ken Norton Jr....but I think Moose was way over rated....he was a one dimensional player, even before his injury...he never had the impact of Garrison, Springs, Newsome, Newhouse.

I don't care about K and P.
Wasn't Neely our other OT, Hos?....our guards in that era were John Niland and Blaine Nye, with Manders at center and Wright and Neely at OT???

Out of all of this I find it quite amazing that Tony Dorsett, one of the NFL's all time greats, wouldn't be able to crack the Cowboys all-time team's starting lineup. I can remember watching him play and I never thought I'd see a Cowboys runner with half the skills he had. Of course now that I have seen Emmitt play I think the same thing about him. We have been very spoiled over the years with our stable of RBs.
Dorsett has always been my man...but I felt I had to go with Emmitt for the consistancy and grind it out thing.

I gotta find a way to put Walker in there. Seriously. Look at what he did for our team in the 90's. :)
