My apologies, Pat Watkins.

If that is Newman having a good game (which it wasn't), I'd hate to see him when he is having a bad day.

Newman was plain awful.

please watch more football...

Ball has played well. I'd bench Newman and try Ball out there. It can't hurt to see what Ball can do. I've seen what Newman can do, and it ain't squat. Newman has been the WORST CB for the Cowboys this year to date.

Newman is still looking for his jock after Finneran juked him silly.

No QB is afraid to throw it at Newman. If Jenkins continues to play better, Newman will continue to see a lot of balls coming his way. Which means he will be getting burned a lot.

Agenda much? Your in every thread posting about how much you dislike Newman.

We get the point. You don't have to think he is the best cb in the league, but if you can't see that he is still a starting caliber cornerback when their are several teams in the league that would LOVE to have him, I don't know what else to tell ya!:lmao:

Funny all the Newman defenders out there fail to acknowledge Finneran juking him silly on a key third down play. We're not talking Randy Moss here. We're talking run-of-the-mill WRs Newman can't even cover. And did you see that pathetic attempt at a tackle by him. I believe Wade chewed him out for that. He later made a nice hit and celebrated like he just won the superbowl.

The only INT he has this year was a gift from Delhomme.

Seems like a lot of people here think Newman is "good." I don't. I hope he performs decently vs Seattle and the rest for the sake of the Cowboys. Until he shows something, he will just be a weak link on the defense.

And Newman is being paid as a top CB and performing like a bottom-tier CB.

You judge a corner by all the plays his man is not thrown to just as much as the few plays his man is.

Last I checked, Ryan threw for under 200 yards and White had 5/6 catches for 50/60 yards.

The way you're acting, you would think we gave up 350 yards and 5 TD's.

I think Hamlin played a little better against Atlanta. We'll see if he can stay consistent and not make any more mental errors. I think Watkins has been good on ST all year and I also think he does ok playing in the pass defense packages. If he's the backup free safety, I'm not worried.

I'm hurt. To tell you the truth, I didn't even know you existed.

I'd start Scandrick over Newman. Period.

If that doesn't motivate him to pick up his play, nothing will, and this would only serve to prove that he either needs to be relegated to the 3rd corner next year or be gone (via trade, of course).

Pat Watkins could be a beast if he played the Barbie position in nickle and dimes... Bill Bates made a living out of it under Jimmy!

Aside for the secondary going fubar on the last TD, Hamlin did play relatively error-free. Probably b/c he was miked up for that game.

Hoping he can continue playing mistake free this weekend which is against his former team, the Seahawks. If he can even play good, continue making tackles by wrapping up once in a while and actually holding on to an INT, I may take his pic off my dart board. :D

:lmao2: You think your racial slurs are intimidating? :lmao2:

If the mods continue to allow it, don't think I won't retaliate. And you know you'd be no match. :D

I don't know because he looks lost at times when playing the deep middle. For all the speed he's got, he doesn't seem to read where the ball is going well or make a good break on it. Of course, some of that could be what coverage we're in, but he really doesn't do much when he's in there ... and I think it's because of a lack of instincts.

His physical ability allows him to shine on special teams, but it seems his lack of football smarts holds him back on defense.

I could be wrong about that, of course, but it's what it looks like to me.

Watkins has not played FS (the deep middle) since he was a starter for Bill Parcells. Wade has had him at SS the past 2 and 1/2 seasons. IMO, FS is his natural position. He is not great in man to man coverage, or as effective playing close to the LOS.

But Watkins instincts and comort w/the position has improved over the years, he was the best safety (free or strong) during the preseason, making plays all over the field.
