Was we allowed them to dictate match ups.

The blitzing has been brought up but we let them do it on offense too. I know it is not conventional but if I am DC I have Scandrick moving with Jackson, Carr on Garcon and Moore on Reed no matter where they line up.

They exploited Moore all game.

From just a player standpoint Church was awful, MCClain had a bad game, and did Carter even play? I saw a 54 out there pre-snap but he was nowhere to be found once the ball was snapped.

The only guys on D that played well were Melton, Crawford, Scandrick and Wilcox.

On offense it pretty much was Weeden. Murray had yards but his fumble killed us as did his pass blocking. Bryant and Williams both had bad drops that took points off the board.

Our coverage teams had another breakdown and for a guy in a contract year Harris has been a shell of himself.

Once again we got screwed on a fumble. Just how in the hell is a ball that is moving from his arm to his shoulder pad as his butt hits the ground in possession?

On the bright side as big a cluster frick as this was we were one of the screw ups not happening away from 7-1.

Yep. I also think that if you run the ball in OT, especially on 2nd and 2, we're criticizing an ugly win instead of a disappointing loss. Run the ball when we have the ball inside the Washington 5, and the game doesn't go to OT. The turnovers hurt, for sure, but abandoning the run cost us this game.

Offense:

We moved the ball, but TO's hurt us. Our line had their bad game when it came to seeing the blitz. I expect adjustments to be made and we will be fine vs Arizona.

Receivers didn't get separation. Dez's stretch into the endzone was amazing. Even Williams had a good grab late in the 4th that was almost intercepted.

Defense:
We got 3 sacks but still lost. How ironic! Our defenders took some bad angles on tackles.

RoMc had a bad game and I know he will respond vs Arizona. Church missed on some tackles as well and for the most part McCoy was comfy in the pocket.

Gameplan on defense:

We played zone and did a bad job. I don't understand why we played so far off receivers. It's no wonder McCoy had a high completion percentage. We never rattled him. I hope we press more vs Arizona and go after Palmer who isn't as mobile as McCoy.

Good post.

I look forward to what adjustments, if any, this team makes moving forward.

Offensively- I don't see much change until teams start all-out blitzing like the Skins every game and it consistently works. That entire side of the team got put on notice and it would be nice to see them respond in the proper fashion.

Defensively- This is a situation in flux. More players are coming in and players that joined recently are still adjusting. I don't know if this is a good thing or bad, but the D has so much room for improvement- I can see Marinelli looking under every stone to get his boys performing at a higher level which includes inserting less experienced talent into the fire to see if they cook, or get roasted.

One additional thing- I like JG preaching on worrying about yourself. You do your job right to the best of your abilities every play- it matters little (most of the time) what the D is doing.
Worry about your job. Do it right and right things will happen.
When this team trusts each other while performing their individual jobs- they win more times than they don't.

The coaches are good enough to call the right plays much more than not.
11 guys doing their jobs correctly and completely will defeat almost any scheme and with some good talent- anything else that gets thrown at you.

It's all about getting to that level and it's not easy. Now that they've stumbled a bit- I am anxious to see how this team responds.

Scandrick is the only one who has enough speed to stay with Jackson, they were just begging for trouble leaving Moore and Carr alone on him with no safety help.

They also played way too much soft zones, it left some easy throws out there that McCoy didnt have to be real accurate on.

Well said indeed sir and can I add that we need some DE that will get after the QB. I hope Lawrence can be one of the answers and we need to cut 2 of our DE's we have now so we can bring Boatright to the roster from the practice roster.

I can see the emphasis on protecting the "A" gap to go along with some twin TE sets to use as chippers. Hanna and Witten would be good first down blockers.

I see our defense playing with the chip they had vs NO and SEA. Having Lawrence back really excites me. When we get Brent in on the action it'll be interesting to see opposing teams try to block the DT's when you have Brent who will demand double teams and Melton and Crawford isolated in their match up.

I see different rotations on the line and that should keep our guys fresh; preventing injuries.

Overall, I'm real confident about the Arizona game.

Arizona counts on that big play and we can counter by keeping Wilcox back. They refuse to run and they like using short to intermediate routes. We need to play press to prevent these guys from getting open fast and force Palmer to hold the ball longer than he wants to.

Philly moved on these guys and like us they left points off the board. Using two TE's will help when they use a DB to blitz. I can't wait to see our line get in the second level and put a beating on their LBers.

Late in the 4th Arizona was exhausted and Philly couldn't capitalize. I believe running Murray only 19 times was to help him in recovery on a short week so he can take 30 carry load vs Arizona. I wouldn't be surprised if we run a total of 40 times. If we do we'll take pressure off Romo and we will eat at Arizona's will early.

Dayam, I'm pumped!!!
