I think Manning is done in Denver. The Broncos have a bunch of guys they need to re-sign. They are looking at a $21.5 million cap hit if they keep Manning. If they cut him they only have a $5 million cap hit in dead money. They went all in this year and came up short. It is time to move on.

I said Peyton Manning was playing his last game when they were in the 4th quarter, that's when I saw the writing on the wall myself.

He'll be an interesting topic half-way through the season when a franchise qb goes down, though.

After today, I am not sure that prediction is all that bold. He looked old, tired, beat up and like a guy who would rather be anywhere else today than where he was - and he wasn't exactly playing the '85 Bears.

I know. Looks pretty obvious that this is as good as it gets for the Broncos with Manning. I actually meant to start this thread last week, but kept getting distracted with other threads.

I think he's probably done, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Did he stop lifting weights? Where was his arm strength today?

I think today looked like it SHOULD be the final time he plays a game.

I doubt it is.

He likely wants the yardage record and he would get it next season with less than 3000 yards passing.

He'll play one more year.

For someone.

He will play for the numbers. Although he plays it off he is vain about it.

I will get flamed for this.

Dude gets $100 million contests. He should have went the hungry, eye if the tiger route in football. Instead of good old boy making commercials for very company possible.

Save the commercials for when you are 3 time Super Bowl MVP champion... With zero doubt you are the greatest ever.

I am sure he had to take time to go shoot commercials. Prep for that nonsense.

He is a marketing machine.

He had a torn quad. He signed a 5 year deal. he just finished his third. I say he comes back for 1 more year at 39 and they morph into a run first team.

Manning has been throwing noodles for 2 years now. Last year he just threw a bunch of them into the endzone.

Ya I think It will be. It would have to be a good team or he wouldn't bother.

His salary and cap hit go up $4 million next year. They will save a nice chunk of money if they part ways. I don't see how they keep all their key free agents, bring in a couple of important pieces to improve their team and keep Manning during this off season. If they keep him they won't be as good next year. If they don't keep him they won't be as good next year. They took their chance and it wasn't good enough.
