My son's league (8-9 year olds) just had their draft and we found out he'll be a Dolphin this year. Our practices start in about 2 weeks.
I'm honestly as pumped for pee wee season to start as I am about the NFL season.

I just got back from son's 1st practice this year.
He's a 10 year old QB/LB Bonecrusher Jr. in the making and I'm coaching the Defense baby.

The 7 year old league is organized as "developmental" so coaches are on the field, the rules are relaxed, and there are some other changes to make it more of a learning experience for the kids.
Then once they hit 8, it gets serious.
It's funny, for our league they have a "combine" (more of a player evaluation) where they all run the 40, do a shuttle drill, do push ups, and so some lite skills work. Then they do a full draft where there is some serious scheming and wheeling-dealing among all the coaches.
I was pretty proud of my kid... he went in the top of the second round. I'd say he's a "chip off the ol block" but that'd be giving myself WAY too much credit. He's a much better block than I ever was. :laugh2:

This is one of my favorite pics of my son running the ball last year. It cracks me up, mostly because of the blocker who is just standing there and staring at his shoelaces. :
It's one of the things that makes Pee Wee football so much fun to watch!
