My worst case scenerio/fear is a lack of discipline. We have a young team, but we have alot of experience on our first team. Those guys know how to prepare they know how to turn it on.

I'm worried maybe camp is a little to laid back for the rookies and young players. Now I realize this is after one game, but the 2nd teamers were so sloppy and the special teams were the worst display I think I've ever seen.

With good blocking I could get to the 15 returning kicks and I felt happy one time we made it past the 20. I don't know what to say about the coverage it looked like tecmo bowl to me.

I think that's a legitimate fear whenever you have a laid-back coach replace a disciplinarian.

This is no slight on Phillips, but Parcells instilled a lot of great work ethic traits. The core of this Cowboy team will continue to abide by those regardless of who the coach is. So I think Phillips plays them right by letting go of the leash and just trusting them. That's what the core wants and needs to succeed. But as you said, this year's rookie class never learned from Parcells. I think you make a good point that they might lose out on a little something under a more light-hearted -- yet still focused -- regime.

That's a solid post.

It's a little freedom, a little trust, a little respect.

Wade is not a legend, or the best ever, but I understand his technique better.

I've got a hunch that the team leaders (all came in Parcells years) won't allow the rookies too much leeway if they don't work their butts off. Besides while Wade may be laid back, I don't really have that impression of Garrett who I view as very intense & focused.

Well if I'm not being chicken little then I look at this as an oppurtunity to teach the young guys that practices will be less fun with those types of performances
