Is that MBIII hasn't averaged 4 ypc in preseason. I don't know if its the line play or what, but that needs to improve or this offense will struggle like it did at times last year.

I didn't see the game last night, whether he was with the first team OLine or not, but it's been each game I think.

Other than that, I feel reallll comfortable with this team other than depth.

I don't know what his avg was but he ran hard and was very productive. Especially on our 94yrd TD drive, it was mostly MB3.

That's no concern at all. Barber is a 4th Q running back. When this team stays on the field the entire game with this ball control offense they have displayed in pre season.. the 2nd half of games will be brutal on other teams D. I have no concern with our running game right now. By the end of the 3rd Q, the other teams D will be so tired.. our backs will have their way with them.

During that drive they showed his stats.....12 rushes 49 yards, that's an 4.1 ypc.

The ypc hasnt been great, but they havent had the negative and zero runs that have plagued them so much the past few yrs either...they are also picking up 1st downs (or touchdowns) in short yardage situations, and they've been inconsistent at that too.

To me, the run blocking has appeared improved.

Oh for sure!!! The 2nd year under HH is shaping up well. Our OL has looked dominant this preseason and the long drives in each game this year has proved it. Romo also has had plenty of time in the pocket...

Quite a few of MBIII's preseason runs have been 3rd and 1 or 4th and inches run. I think the Cowboys have been successful on almost all of those runs in the preseason. I call that effective running.Of course short runs will reduce the ypc.

If we look at what Barber did in the past, most of his big runs, that upped his average, were in the second half of games when defenses were worn down.

None of the Cowboys RBs have really ripped off big runs in the preseason, but they have been very consistent. As the poster above said, we've had very few negative runs, which is a good thing.

The fact that we have run well in short yardage and key situations is very encouraging. The starting o-line is really blowing the D of the line of scrimmage. The TEs are blocking really well too.

As long as he's healthy MB is the least of my concerns. He looked great last night and darn good in the Titans game.
