- Garrett back.
- Houck back.
- People can gripe about Wade being too laid back and claim it was part of the loss last week, which I don't necessarily buy, but he obviously contributed this year to the defensive improvement, and there is nary a ripple from the HC when his assistant gets a huge raise.
- No team is ever truly deep beyond risk but look at how our O-line situation has improved in a mere 12 months. Solid starters plus Proctor held the fort while Andre was hurt, plus we have Free, Marten & McQ as young reserves.
- D-line is maybe equally deep. Spears, Ratliff, Canty coming on, Ferguson returning, Tank, Bowen, Hatcher.
- New talent on either line had better be darn good to make this club.
- A full year (knock wood) of Ware & Ellis in 2008, plus hopefully a much improved Spencer.
- Hamlin simply MUST be resigned.
- Count me amongst those who want a different solution than Roy at SS. Wade's use (or non) is handwriting all over the wall plus Roy doesn't impact like he used to. Upgrades will be sought.
- Replace Flozell with existing depth, and Roy can be cut. Cap problem solved.
- Sign Barber, draft him a compliment from amongst the many early-mid rounders available this year. Sign a reasonably priced middle tier FA. Bye-bye Tyson.
- There is no question in my mind that Jones will make significant investments (draft or FA) in CB & RB, and maybe WR depending on Glenn's status.
- No offseason personnel work required on the kicking game. I repeat, no offseason personnel work required on the kicking game.
- Think about packaging some of those lower round picks or be ready to move some of those under-producing/slow to develop folks like Carp, Spears, Hurd, Austin, etc. Making this roster is no piece of cake.
- The 2007 failure will not break this team's spirit. Watch out for us in 2008.
- 43 days til free agency starts.
- DANG! Its leap year! Make that 44 days.
- Maybe it s just chatter, but I loved when Garrett said he came back to Dallas because there is unfinished business.
Nobody was griping about WP being laid back when they were 12-1, that only came in the last month; it's something beyond Wade Phillips.
I'm all with you on Roy.
And yes, Hamlin MUST be resigned. The depth at DLine excites me. As much as I like Ellis, I think his presence may actually slow Spencer's development. We may be blessed with TOO much talent. Can't have everybody on the field at once.
I think finding not just a starting CB, but finding quality depth as well will be key. As far as WRs, signing/drafting/trading for a solid #2 but more importantly a REAL #3 (unless Crayton steps up...which I doubt), could be the best thing we do on offense (even before RB)
