DeVonte Holloman

RESTRUCTURED
Tyron Smith

RESIGNED FAs
Dez Bryant WR Cap Hit - 7,975,000

Doug Free T Cap Hit - 4,500,000

Rolando McClain ILB Cap Hit - 3,850,000

Bruce Carter OLB Cap Hit - 2,250,000

Sterling Moore CB Cap Hit - 1,500,000

hane Vereen RB Cap Hit - 2,250,000
Adrian Clayborn DE Cap Hit - 1,600,000

Robert McClain CB Cap Hit - 2,250,000

The Cuts and Restructure are pretty obvious moves. I did refrain from restructuring Romo so if he breaks down in the future, The Cowboys could release him. I re-signed most of the Cowboy's biggest FAs except for Murray. With Murray, I'm going with the theory that he has been worn down after so many carries. Plus I believe I could replace him. The FA signings are young, fairly cheap, and have high upside. Shane Vereen would be the lead back in the new RB rotation. Robert McClain would add a new face to the CB group who was a solid CB in Atlanta. Clayborn has been well documented here at BtB.

I don't see us keeping McClain & Carter - I could be wrong, but seems like a lot of money to tie up in the LB.

Yes, it seems unlikely that they would keep both. Hitchens started over Carter in the final third of the season. Lee is returning. They only use 2 LBs in the Nickel which is about 50% of the snaps.

If McClain returns, then:
MLB McClain
WLB Lee
SLB Hitchens

Wilber is the backup SLB and Durant will probably re-sign to backup all of the positions and battle to start at SLB.

With both Carter and McClain, Carter would have to battle with Hitchens at SLB.
