Okay let me start this off by saying I realize this post is going to echo many concerns and sentiments that have been expressed here by other members ad nauseam. Rather than encouraging you to join me in my misery, i'm asking that you help me. Help me find a silver lining. (Hostile if you're reading this i know you're pretty good at looking at the bright side):
Help me overlook the following issues that really eat me up when i think of my Dallas Cowboys:
- Poor coaching: Without going too deep into it, I don't think Garrett can maximize the talent on the roster.
- Poor GM: Jerry Jones.... nothing more really to say about that
- Poor talent: I know i said Garrett can't maximize the talent, but the talent is limited AND injury prone
- Cap Hell: The salaries are distributed horribly on our team and it limits our ability to create depth on the roster

So does anyone see a ray of hope in all of this? Because i really don't. I haven't felt this down on my boys in a very long time. The Chicago game was literally like watching an arena football team just march up the field effortlessly. the lack of execution on offense is equally depressing.
I'm all ears. please let me know what the silver lining is, not just for this season but for this organization moving forward.

I am a generally optimistic person, however, I long ago came to the conclusion that the Cowboys were unlikely to seriously content for a title while Jerry Jones is the GM of the team. All these things you listed are symptoms of the problem of having the owner of the team run the front-office.

As of right now...

Running game is improved
Penalties are down
Turnover differential much improved.

That's about it.

As for moving forward........

well..........

hmmmm..........

Jerry can't live forever. Can he? :)

Something tells me when Jerry passes on (and no i'm not making light of that because life is much more important than football) his big head son will take over and follow the same path. i hope i'm wrong, i really do.

This team is done. In fact, this team wont be competitive for may more years to come.

Think about it, one playoff win in SEVENTEEN YEARS.

We totally lucked up with Romo being the player he is and still couldnt capitalize. Im telling you, this team will not win a super bowl under Jerry Jones ownership.

All we can hope for is that Stephen sees the error of his fathers ways and he hires a GM when he takes over.

I find it hard to believe Stephen is the delusional narcissist his father is. If I'm wrong, we're doomed.

Feel better yet?

Well, you'll appreciate it a whole lot more when it DOES happen since you've gone through such a long period of misery. How's that? Sorry, that's all I've got. I see no hope on the horizon, this team has officially wasted a HOF-caliber quarterback's career. Good job, Jerry.

nah i don't want to be lied to. i'm just hoping that there's something i'm missing or something i've overlooked or neglected to consider.

The Cowboys are the 2008 Giants. They are going to turn the season around and roll straight into the Super Bowl. Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are real.

To quote our fine friend Risen Star, each day that passes means Jerry Jones is a day older.
