Davis...check!

Resign Columbo; new OL looks like this next year...LT Flo/McQuistan, Kosier or Draft Pick, Gurode, Davis, Columbo....very solid.

Joey Porter! Check this out...

Starters...Ware, Akin, B-Carp, Porter. Reserves...Burnett, James, Fowler or pick, Singleton, Ellis (3rd down)....WOW!

Deon Grant...speaks for itself. Or, if Henry goes to FS, draft high for RCB. Maybe kid from UT (Ross) or Pitt. (?).

Lastly....Harrington. Garrett knows him and will continue to correct him with Tony.

Who'd be happy with that FA before the draft???

Not really. His contract isn't that big.

please say NO to Porter.....he is worn down and worn out...his tackles have gone down a lot, his sacks are down, and he has been injured lately

If we go FA LB......I want Tully Banta-Cain (younger and more upside than Porter) or Donnie Edwards (knows the Phillips 3-4)

Safety I want that Kevin K from Cincy

JP's tackles went all the way down to 55 from 56 in 2005 when he made the Pro Bowl. Except he did it this year in 14 games. It's as if people are putting the entire Steelers let down on JP.

If TBC really had more upside than JP he would have signed already. Young pass rushers with upside don't stay on the market. He got benched by NE at the end of the year.

Our needs right now...

RT
FS
backup QB
backup C
backup NT

Hopefully we get Columbo back and the o-line will be solidified except for having a backup center. There are still some good centers on the market (Birk, Jacox, Newberry, etc) but we could just try and draft one later in the draft. If Columbo does not come back then Davis will probably be the RT and we will have to get a RG, assuming Rivera is not coming back.

If we are going to get a FS then I like Kaesviharn. He wouldn't cost much and he is a solid FS and cover guy. We can't afford to spend a bundle on FS. If we don't sign him then move Henry to FS and draft a CB in the first or second round. I hate doing that though because then we are drafting for need and not based on who is there when we pick.

There are plenty of decent backup QBs available. Harrington would be my top choice, but Collins, Ramsey, Rattay, Johnson or even Bledsoe would work as well.

I don't think there is a good backup NT available in FA, so we will have to find one in the draft.

It would be nice to get a proven pass rusher, but I doubt it happens. I think Wade thinks he can get more out of the players we have, and I think he is right.

Yep - I'd add Carlos Polk in the mix at OLB. Not as young as we'd like but could provide a good situation pass rush - he's older but low mileage after missing a couple of years.

Also, Colombo should be a serious priority. He's got the nasty streak that the rest of the line misses.

At C, I wouldn't be shocked if Al J came back on a one year deal.

Sounds like Ramsey is the QB target.

would like to see us keep Colombo if its within reason...

sign Ramsey to backup Romo

I wont complain if they sign Porter, but he does have alot of question marks now...I really had hoped we'd get Antwan Peek but he signed with Cleveland

Banta Cain is JAG, something everyone should know because the Pats made absolutely no effort to keep him...I think he was even benched late in the yr or for the playoffs...Polk is also no better than whats here

they are going to keep Grammatica...thats good

other than that I think we're good...none of the DB's out there really interest me...get ready for draft time

Yep, Bant Cain was benched. They moved Vrabel to SOLB where Banta Cain was playing and started a UDFA ILB from LSU at Vrabel's ILB spot.

Harrington wouldn't shock me since he was with Garrett in Miami.

You don't have to kick in even a penny for it.

I never understood this, the salary cap is the same. Who cares if you have $50 million sittin on the bench? Put the eleven best players on the field. If you wanna play, regardless of your salary, then produce. It really sounds simple but you see it all the time, a high priced player starting just because of his salary. I just don't get it.

Not that I think this will happen, but if we signed Columbo, Gramatica, Ramsey, and a FS in FA, I wouldn't mind trading down at all in this draft to reload for years to come.:shoot1:

I am not sold on Porter. I saw him many games last year because I'm in Baltimore. In particular, he got abused in both Ravens games and had no impact. Not sure if any of you all saw it, but Jamal Lewis literally ran over him and then gave him the business before getting off him. It was pretty funny to see considering the way Porter runs his mouth.

If we can resign Colombo, and then maybe add a FS like Kevin Kaesviharn (my preference) or Ken Hamlin, that would mean we could head into the draft with no holes. That would free us to draft BPA instead of reaching for a position of need.

I don't think we need to take any veteran OLBs like Porter or Bunta Cain. We are fine there. Maybe we can score Spencer in the draft. He would cost less and be better.

I agree with this, totally! If we could get Spencer...that would be way good!

Now that we have Davis, My FA wish list is:

Ramsey
Gramitica
Donnie Edwards- just like the fact that he knows WP 3-4 and help the players that will start
Colombo- only if its cheap. I would not be scared to go into the season without Colombo..
