Did I make up that? I grew up in Texas with a step Dad who was a devout Baltimore Colts fan. Johnny U! But my earliest memory of a nfl football was in the SB in which the Colts and Cowboys participated in. I bet a dollar at halftime that the Cowboys would win. They were ahead at that point as I recall. I lost on the unreliable O'Brien kick. No matter where I have resided (ex-military) have I ever changed teams since that day! I hate bandwagoneers with a passion. I live and die with this team. I have never followed the Oilers. While I loved the Tyler Rose very much I could not abandon my Cowboys. How about you share your story on your Dallas Cowboy fandomism whether correct or not?

My father pounded Dallas Cowboys into my head as a kid, but I didn't start watching games or paying attention till they got Tony Dorsett. He was my first sports hero, and that Roger guy was cool too. Later Martin and White became my biggest heros on the team(hence my avatar), though I still loved Dorsett, Hill, Pearson, and the rest). Grew up and lived most my life in the SF Bay Area in the heart of Whiner and Raider country. My mom and others in her side of the family grew up with and knew Jim Plunkett and went to school with him. So they tried to persuade me to Raiders, but my Father instilled Cowboys in me. 1981season was the biggest nightmare to me when Montana and his weak arm was trying to throw the ball out of the end zone vs. the Cowboys in the NFC Title game, but it lobbed on to Clark's hands instead.

For years I heard mockery from my 49er fan friends but that sweet day of reconcile came in the 1992 NFC Title game. I went to a party to watch the game among these same friends, and was the lone Cowboys fan there. They were but sure cocky they were going to win telling me how the 49ers are a proven Dynasty, and the Cowboys lost to Detroit in the play-offs the season before. It seemed only a few of them were really watching the game. Most were talking about planning their Super Bowl party. I asked them, "Hey, are you even looking at the score?". They gave me a look like I was being cute or something, but then that magic moment came. "Alvin To Harper". The looks on their faces changed from happy beer drinking Super Bowl party planning drunken 49er fans to the looks of Drunken Factory of Sadness Cleveland Browns fans. The few that actually seemed to be paying attention the whole game started shouting "It's over!" They assured me the Bills were proven winners and finally get their first SB win. Cowboys just got lucky.

Aftermath: That was the greatest feeling in the world. They invited me the next season to watch the regular season game, and The Cowboys beat them again. They finally started admitting, okay maybe these Cowboys are better than we thought. 1993 NFC Title game they didn't want me to attend their party.
They're still my friends to this day, so it's friendly.
