where Stanback played. I used to be a booster during the Don James era and don't miss many games. That said, I am not sure what Ireland saw that makes him salivate so much. Sure Stanback is a good athlete but I never saw the Phenomenal part. I guess that is subjective. He was a phenomenal athlete for a qb but couldn't generate wins for the UW. Granted he wasn't surrounded by good talent, there hasn't been much since Don James left.
I would like to see them give him a shot at QB, he has a good arm that isn't always accurate, but is a good kid, hard worker and with good talent around him and better coaching I think he could be a good QB. At WR he is one of many guys who run 4.4 -4.5. Nobody can tell you how good his hands are for sure not even Stanback himself.
I hope I am wrong because I really like him but as far as developing into a good 1 or 2 WR I wouldn't bet on it.
