I know everyone has been eagerly waiting for this….just kidding, no one cares, but just like to get my final 2 cents down on record.
12- Shemar Stewart DE Texas A&M- Yes, I know I’m on an island with this because of the production…but to me Stewart is just too big, too athletic, and plays with too high of a motor to fail. Despite the lack of production Stewart jumps off the screen and is highly impactful in about every game you watch of him. His combo of power and speed is going to allow him to live in the backfield and impact both the run and pass.
*Trade 44 and 217 to Hou for 58 and 89*
58- Kaleb Johnson RB Iowa- Powerful 3 down back with great vision. Consistently breaks tackles and runs through contact for extra yards. Also a quality receiver out of the backfield.
76- Joshua Farmer DT FSU- Long armed, stout bruiser for the middle of the d-line. Hard guy to move and plays with a bully mentality that will constantly fight in the trenches. While he will help most vs the run, he has plenty of juice to shoot gaps and get after the QB.
89- Nohl Williams CB Cal- Tough CB with great ball skills…7 INT’s and 16 PD’s last year. Isn’t afraid to tackle and wraps up well. I can see him excelling as a zone slot in Eberflus’s zone heavy scheme where he can react to the QB and make plays.
149- Teddye Buchanan LB Cal- Former QB with the size and athleticism to play LB at a high level. Lack of experience will require some development time, but very high ceiling if everything comes together.
*Trade 174 and 204 for 151*
151- Brashard Smith RB SMU- Trade up to get another offensive weapon. While I don’t see Smith ever being an every down back, he has huge play potential on both running and passing downs. Could be a Theo Riddick type weapon.
211- Kitan Crawford S Nevada- 5’11 200 pound elite athlete. Has potential to develop into a starting FS, but he will be drafted for being a special teams demon.
239- Jackson Meeks WR Syracuse- Former high level recruit to Georgia that never got his chance to shine there, but put up 1,000 yards and 7 TD’s in his lone year at Syracuse. Big bodied WR with good hands and body control that could develop into a decent possession WR. Maybe the next Noah Brown?
247- Caleb Etienne OT BYU- Mountain of a man with enough athleticism to think that maybe he could be coached into something down the line.
**Sign Keenan Allen after draft and figure out WR 2 next year in a draft with more high end WR talent
