Trade down from 9 to 12 and acquire a 3rd

12th pick - Cameron Jordan

Trade up from 40 to 25 and trade the 3rd we acquired

25th pick - Gabe Carimi

71st pick - Curtis Marsh

Youre onto something with where you maneuvered us. That makes a lot of sense.

I dont know who Curtis Marsh is

I like it. I'm not for moving up in the 1st, but I like moving from the 2nd round to get back in the 1st to get a OT.

If we don't come out of this draft without a OT I'm going to be sick!

Not too bad. I really like the idea of trying to move back up into the latter first round in order to grab one of the RT prospects that should be there. We could come out of round 1 with two new starters (DE and ORT) very easily.

Then grab a S and a OG in rounds 2 and 3. If we make good selections in those two rounds, we could really go a long way towards solidifying the positions we need help at.

I still think they will try to move up for PP. If they cant do it for a 3rd then they might do something like what youre saying

The real question is, would they take Tyron at 9?

I think that if Peterson or Fairley are there at #6, Jerry will try to move up to get them. Jerry and Holmgren go way back and consider themselves friends. They like dealing with each other, so I can see that happening.

If Jerry can get one of those guys and then move back up into the late first round for Carimi, I would consider it a resounding success.

It is possible, too.

No question in my mind that we will get Peterson if he falls to 6th

I've gone on record many times stating that I think Peterson will fall to 6..

I honestly think we will get Peterson. However, that is not what I want..I don't think so at least..

If we stay at 9, I think it comes down to Smith, Jordan, or Watt.

Fairley isnt such a hot name right now. Im not in love w/ him as an NFL 5 technique but he is definitely intriguing. I just dont think he would go over PP on their board. He would have to fall to 9. Which is probably not happening but worth checking out

I dont see them staying put and taking a DE. Theres so many in this draft and I dont think theres much separation from the top guy to Cameron Heyward.

Instead of a trade down and the first 2 picks being a DE/Carimi

What if they trade down a smidge and go Tyron/Heyward

Or what about this. Trade down and get Tyron mid 1st, draft Wiznewski at 40, and Heyward with the other 2nd

That would have to follow a nice FA pickup in the seondary though

I would be ecstatic....great three player haul there.

I seriously considered taking Smith at 12..however, I decided against it because I felt the drop off from Jordan and Heyward and the other DEs was significantly bigger than the drop off from Smith and Carimi..

I have Cam Jordan as my #1 5 tech in this draft...I do like Smith more than Jordan though.

[Doubtful we could move up from the 2nd round to the late first using only a 3rd rounder?
