Where do you plan on staying, and what do you like / want to do?

Haven't made any plans yet other than going to that game. Need to get tickets and find a hotel. Would like to tour the stadium. I don't know how much they charge and when they do that. Also good places to eat.

I would stay in Dallas or Fort Worth. And then make your plans around which city you choose. I prefer Uptown/Downtown Dallas. If in Dallas, you are close enough to Frisco to check out The Star.

Mods really need to make either a stadium/GameDay Zone, or at least a stickied thread, because all these questions have been answered a million times here.

Was thinking that earlier, we get these thread questiosn more than we get Jaylon Nerve threads...well, it's close...:muttley:...
We also need a Food Zone...as in...what's on the grill for the game....sure would be nice to not see the first page of threads full of these 2 type of threads, when the season starts....

I'll say it.

As a place to visit, Dallas-Fort Worth sucks.

It's a really, really great place to live, but there aren't many main attractions.

So help us out. What are you looking for? Historical? Texan-y? Just a few cool things to do here and there?

I think we just take it for granted. We have Six Flags, Rangers, and Cowboys all within a mile from each other. The Omni theater is cool. As much as I loathe the played out Stockyards, it's a unique place for visitors. Fort Worth is cool, especially 7th Street, but there's really no diversity in comparison to Dallas. Deep Ellum is a lot more happening and way safer than it used to be. The State Fair, when opened, is always a good time. Uptown isn't my crowd, but there are cool places there. But yeah, living here I pretty much go to my watering hole, Aspen Creek, and ride my bike. That's about it.

Yeah don’t get me wrong; there’s plenty to do and I love where the area is now opposed to just 10 years ago. I’m just saying not much of it is unique to DFW, ya know?

The stockyards is an exception. But Uptown, Trinity Groves, West 7th , Bishop Arts, Lower Greenville etc… all of those places might as well be in any Big City, USA.

Nothing wrong with that, but there really aren’t many destinations for tourists like Seattle, SF, Denver, NY, DC etc.

Then don't click on the thread :)
I'm trying to be helpful for the people who haven't been here. A giant source of information already gathered would be a good idea. @Reality... What do you think? I'd be happy to put as much info like hotels, restaurants, etc in there.

If it's just a short trip I suggest staying in a hotel near the stadium and going to Six Flags the day before or after gameday. It's right across the street. Make sure you ride Mr. Freeze. Also if you can stomach watching a baseball game then check out the Rangers. Downtown Ft. Worth and Dallas are pretty fun, I've just been to each too many times. If you're looking for a nice mall you can check out the Galleria in Dallas.

The issue is that the city and its locales change over time and different folks have different wants, circumstances, and expectations.

Plus it certainly seems that plenty of people like to talk about the city every time.

So much depends on you and want you're interested in,
DFW has a pretty broad range of interest items

Meanwhile, good choice for a game!
Enjoy

This is all true. I can't get my friends to come visit anymore because there is really nothing to do as a visitor unless we go to a cowboys game or a rangers game and they have been to all those. Not to mention the awful storms in the spring and unbearable heat from June to September. This place is nice to live and has a great housing market but its not a place for vacationing tourists. Unless of course they like the same shopping plaza's every 2 miles, mega churches and gas stations.
