Did this using Fanspeak's Draft simulator. The only way I was going to stay at 4 is if Ramsey fell to me. I think there are just three player's worthy of spending the 4th pick on in this draft. Laremy Tunsil, Jalen Ramsey and Myles Jack. I think Bosa, Buckner and another few players have a chance to be solid players but I am not 100% sold on them.

In this simulation, Ramsey went before our pick. I traded the fourth pick to the Rams for their first and BOTH of their seconds. Also made another trade down with the Saints later in the draft. So, without further adieu, here is my mock:

R1P15 Kevin Dodd DE. I like his size and competitiveness. He is a bit raw but I think he will make an excellent DE.

R2P3 Paxton Lynch QB. I think Lynch may make for a fine starter after sitting and learning from Romo for a couple years. I like Wentz and Goff better but they both went really early in the simulation. Matter of fact, they both went within the first 4 picks as Cleveland took Goff and the Rams took Wentz with the pick we traded to them.

R2P12 Karl Joseph S Love this kid. High character, plays aggressively. I think he can be an earlier starter in this league. Think he will be an immediate upgrade to our defense.

R2P14 Jaylon Smith LB. Another kid I love. Smart, fast, good character. The knee is a huge concern however.

R3P4 Ezeikial Elliot RB. Yep. I was amazed he was sitting here and doubt he will be in the real thing. But he was, so I took him. Not much to say here except that he could be a monster behind this line. RB was nowhere near my main concern, which is why I didn't take him earlier but I couldn't pass him up in the third.

R4P14 Willie Henry DT. Think this kid can be a solid player and I am still in the mind of bolstering our defense.

R4P37 Eric Murray CB. Another solid player. Not much as a starter but I think he will be fine in the nickel packages and slot.

R5P13 Deion Jones.LB Will be a solid special teamer and has a chance to develop into a starting OLB

R6P14 Austin Blythe C. Undersized but smart and athletic. Will need to put on some weight but can serve as a solid backup for now.

R6P37 Rees Odhiambo G. Played tackle in college but I think will be a Guard in the pros. Another backup at this time that could develop.

R6P41 Vincent Valentine DT Another backup that could develop into more. Good size.

R6P42 DeAndre Houston-Carson S. Should be able to play special teams right away and could get some time in the dime package.

So, that is it. Lot's of defense. I really wanted a WR in there somewhere but could never find one that were worth it in my spots. Other than that, I am pretty happy with it.

Your so right about Zeek but that was how your simulator rolls.
If the cards fall this way great but I'd picked Zeel long before .Good job

I would too normally but I am much more interested in fortifying our defense. I think we will be okay at RB this year but we really need help on the defensive line and the secondary. That is what I targeted through most of the draft.

Probably should just toss out any simulation that is that terrible. You don't really get anything of value out of it other than a pipe dream.

Here is something to consider when doing these fan speak mock drafts.

If even you don't think a player will be available at a spot, don't take that player.

If you don't think Zeke will be there in the third round...don't take him in the third round.

Why? Because everyone and their grandma is going to tell you something you already know yourself...he is not going to be there in the third.

No could it happen...anything is possible, but nobody believes it so IMO I try to be realistic when I do these mock drafts. Nobody thought Witten would go in the third round. But it is an anomaly.

What this also does is it forces you to look at other players that go beyond the big names everyone already knows. The best part of doing these mock drafts is to look up players in the later rounds that you might not know. It helps
to educated yourself beyond just the top names.

everytime I click on a mock draft, I get disappointed when I see it's one of those fan speak mocks...

Yeah, Zeke in the third was funny. I have no idea why or how he fell that far. Never seen it happen before or since.

I think I hate Dodd at 15. There has to be a better player at some position then he is at DE at that point of the draft. Feels more like a 2nd round player. Jaylon Smith in the second round isn't going to happen. The nerve in his knee will either be awake or show signs of waking up at the medical rechecks and he's probably a late 1st or he fails his medicals and he's maybe a 4th rounder. You just can't gamble a 2nd round pick on a guy who might never play a down.
