My First WP attempt...

I need some brutal opinions.
I just got PSP about a week ago and I've been trying my hand at making wallpaper.
Please tell me if I'm wasting my time.
I very much respect the opinions of members in this forum.

never wasting your time,there are alot of guys here who help,and offer suggestions. I'm not familiar with PSP,only thing I'm not crazy about is the faded cowboy pic, but looks good for only doing it a week, you will get better with time, BTW used that same backround today for my sig pic

I see nothing wrong with it... maybe a higher-res star... and perhaps font... that is minor... good work...

The only thing I would do is either have the boarder go all the way around thi pic, or get rid of it all together.

Never...

We LOVE to have as many addicts back here in the Image Dungeon, as possible.

I like the second one more...the ghosted image is really nice...my only advice would be to try to get the images in the foreground to be cut a bit better so you don't have jagged edges.

Other than that, which is just "mechanics", I think the composition of these is VERY good.

Actually, I decided to try my hand at this after seeing all of the great work you guys have done here in the Image Zone. Some of the work here is truly amazing. I really appreciate the encouragement. Maybe someday I could be half as good as Juke... (that wasn't butt-kissing)
I do have a question. When I look at other work here, they seem very crisp and clear. I can't seem to get that no matter what I try. Especially the font. Is it something I'm not doing right or is it a difference in programs?

Hey...lemme know if you want me to move these to the sig pic thread...you'd have to resize them, no bigger than 350 pixels high...500 wide...

Uh, hey, even if it was butt kissing, works for me. Transparent attempts to butter me up are fine.

Actually, kidding aside, thank you.

Clarity....I tend to res up stuff alot...use the sharpen/sharpen edge feature in Photoshop...use alot of contrast filters...and play with the saturation...often I do so within levels....and sometime I apply an overall to the finished flattened graphic.

DD... your work is VERY nice... there are several of us that could provide you with high-res star images... that is all you are lacking...

Great concept... great creativity... great work... keep it up...

I've looked and looked for high-res stars but cannot seem to find any good ones. I've found alot of smaller ones but not any that I could use. Anyone have any or know where I can get a few?

Also, I've found about a gazillion free sites where I can get fonts. Any recommendations about which site to use?
