ROUND 2(TB)(2)
Michael Bennett DT Ohio State
DT who has played both 1 and 3 techs for OSU. Strong and quick off the snap. Good penetration and good use of his hands to keep blockers off him.

ROUND 2
Jay Ajayi RB Boise State
One of the complete RBs in the draft. Has the 2nd gear that most bigger RBs dont have. Very good at receiving out of the backfield and good at blitz recognition.

ROUND 3
Trey Flowers DE Arkansas
Draft him and allow him compete and rotate with Lawrence, and move Mincey over to the left side to rotate with McPhee.

ROUND 4(TB)(10)
Josh Shaw CB Southern Cal
Played CB and FS in packages at USC. Played in the system Dallas plays now in college for ex Dallas coach. Smart player who plays the under stuff very well. Would allow Scandrick to stay outside instead of moving him into the slot.

ROUND 4
Rob Havenstein OT Wisconsin
Had a rough combine so i think he drops a little to this spot. But id take these Wisconsin OL in the draft. Let him develope into Free's Eventual replacement.

ROUND 5
Chris Hackett FS TCU
Could come in and play in packages to start his career, and play STs. Church is a FA after 2016. Could see Dallas moving JJ to SS and Hackett taking over FS in a couple yrs.

ROUND 6(TB)(8)
Hayes Pullard ILB USC
Player who is a tackling machine and all conference player 3 yrs in a row for the trojans. Played inside and outside. Another player who knows the system and has had production.

ROUND 7(BAL)
Chris Conley WR Georgia
Guy to take over harris' role

ROUND 7
Chucky Hunter DT TCU
Moves well for his size. needs to develop, PS guy

I don't think Flowers or Hackett are there where you have us taking them. I also don't see the Cowboys starting a rookie RB. They may let Murray go, and if they do, you can bet they'll pick up a FA veteran to be the starter.

Hackett will not be there when we pick in my opinion and I don't think we will be able to sign McPhee if the rumors are close to what he is asking for.

Flower might not be, but Hackett didnt show much speed running 4.81 40. thats bad for a FS. People need to get over what these guys did in College and thinking they are going to be able to do what they did and duplicate it in the pros. He could develop into that type of player down the road, but he needs to develop.

And why wouldnt Dallas be able to sign McPhee?

I like the McPhee signing and the draft selections of Bennett, Ajayi, Shaw, Hackett, and Pullard.

Overall, I feel like losing Murray and only really adding McPhee is a step back. Your end result is not a better team than last year's IMO.

I disagree, Adding players like McPhee, Bennett, flowers, a healthy Terrell Mcclain, Gardner, Bishop to a DL rotation is alot better then what they had last yr. Then Adding a healthy Lee a exp Hitchens a player like Shaw to the slot . This defense would be alot better. you have to realise this team played alot better at the end of the yr. They avged 3 sacks and 3 TO's in the last 3 reg season and 2 playoffs games. and the only change was playing more man defense.

The offense is the same except Murray vs. Ajayi. Pretty significant downgrade though.

The defense is the same except McPhee vs Selvie/Spencer and the LB group gains Lee but loses Rolando and Bruce. Same exact secondary, who will benefit from a somewhat improved pass rush, but still has many issues.

Not seeing how we are better.

Well agree to disagree. Me i tend to buy into marinellis system and his take on not needing a name at every posistion on defense.

Spencer and Selvie gave this team nothing in 14 reg season weeks. McPhee had more sacks then both combined in limited action. Him and Lee alone make this defense alot better IMO.

I love your mock, but why would anyone take Hacketts combine numbers over his game tape? Wrong way to pick players IMO. Some team is going to take him in the 2-3rd rounds and have a great young player for years. Hope it's us.

Because the NFL game is faster then the college game. And any DB or WR who is running 4.8 in his 40 needs to be questioned.

Pretty solid. I love the trade down. I'd be nervous waiting for Flowers name to be called knowing we didn't get a DE yet.

JJones has said recently that buying high priced FA's isn't their philosophy
however he didn't say diffidently would not but that it wasn't likely
I believe that article might still be on the Dallas Cowboys web site.

Think Jerry was asked about the likes of suh and jpp with that question. mcphee isnt in that class. He's a notch below.
