...finally paid off. I won the Star Trek Strange New Worlds fiction writing contest. My short story, Dilithium Is a Girl's Best Friend, will appear in the newest Strange News Worlds anthology. In addition to a $1000 advance, I get a publishing credit with one of the five biggest English language publishing houses, Simon and Schuster. I'm very excited. Hopefully, it's the "in" I've been waiting for.

I'm envious. Congratulations. That's an interesting title. Does it have any connection to the character of Elaan?

Eve McHuron. Ben Childress has died and she's the CEO of Childress Drilling when Harry Mudd comes a-calling with one final business venture...

That's a nice angle. Mudd's Women is one of the best Classic Trek episodes in my opinion. I'm interested to read how you direct those characters' lives beyond their (lucky) chance encounter with Kirk and the Enterprise.

UnFortunately, I can't tell you anymore about it since I don't own the rights to the store anymore. :p
