I have thought about a Jets trade for at least 6 weeks now. unless Revis retires we would need to trade for a player and the 2 obvious are Sheldon Richardson and Muhammad Wilkerson. Visited a couple Jets boards and they said Richardson is a moron and i believe has already been suspended 4 games for failed drug test. And Wilkerson was just given a massive contract.

I would take Wilkerson and a pick if possible. Would throw in Tyrone Crawford if we can get a 2nd or 3rd back.

Which begs the question: How in God's name did Bradford fetch a first? Sorry for getting off topic...
Vikings had there backs against the wall with Bridgewaters injury. It was all timing

Eagles didnt want to trade Bradford either. They weren't going to just give him away

Unfortunately, there just haven't been many game changing pass rushers available for us to draft since Garrett's first draft.

The first time one was available, he had character concerns and we rolled the dice-- didn't pan out well.

So yeah, we may have to move up to get a game changing rush end. But I think it's also a little risky to do so.

Pass Rushers bust at high rates. Do we really want to put ourselves behind the 8 ball reaching for a need?

I'd rather make a legitimate effort in Free Agency to get some dogs on the DL, and then let the chips fall where they may in the draft.

Good thinking with throwing in Crawford. Wilkerson and Collins on the interior would big a huge boost to the pass rush. Do you think Romo would even want to go to the Jets? I don't think we trade Romo unless he approves of the team. They do have offensive weapons needed to win.

We need do what we have to do to secure a long term awnser at DE. Even if we have to move up 10 spots or so. It wont be an immediate solution as pass rushers tend to take a year now two to make there mark. But going forward, if we dont strengthen our edge rush, we are playoff fodder for top QBs no matter how good we are elsewhere
If they absolute have to have a DE, then they need to get out the checkbook for a free agent or possible consider a trade. Romo for Clowney. ;)

Forget the Jets. JJ is the biggest Romosexual of all. He won't trade his boy to that dumpster fire of a franchise. Nor should he.

It certainly helped the Eagles that the Vikes lost Bridgewater late in the offseason. The Vikes had high hopes going into the season and they were desperate.

Oh, I know. Still, though...someone gives a first for Bradford and it's questionable whether we could get a three for Romo. Strange world.

I know we wouldn't trade him to the Jets. I even question that in another post. I'm starting to think Romo will be a June 1st cut if the Broncos are not willing to trade much of anything.

35 year old, oft-injured QB. Moving up those 8 spots is the equivalent of getting a mid 3rd round pick for him, which is reasonable.

Why would Denver do the trade for Romo that you suggest when they already have 2 young QBs?
They would have to think that Romo makes them an instant playoff contender whereas the other 2 don't

That is not worth the #20 pick?

No way do I trade Romo for this little compensation

They have seen a full year of Siemian and I doubt they view him as anything more than a backup. Romo would instantly make them a contender for the playoffs and give them more time to evaluate/develop Lynch, who most teams thought was a couple years away from being a starter to begin with.

Exactly
So then Romos value to them should be high

Trading Tony Romo and #28 to Denver for #20 sure makes a lot of sense.
Trading Romo makes little sense, unless it gets us a tremendous player. Due to the salary cap is structured, we would be able to add 2-3 quality free agents with the money we save if we just release him. If we trade him, it will cost us a lot more on the cap. Freeing that money, just for the sake of having breathing room, would be worth it.

Need a coverage safety
CB
DE
DT
WR
TE

And OL depth
Thank you! I've been saying all year that Byron Jones just does not have the instincts to be a CF FS. In big play after big play, Jones could be seen trailing badly, or taking the wrong angle, as top corners had their way with us. We need to get someone like Quincy Wilson, who is bigger, more physical, & has a better instinct for the free safety position. That would free Jones up to play cover corner, which is a much more natural position for him.

Denver has said they are not interested in Romo.

Why would any team run to the press and talk up trading for Romo? It would be like walking onto a used car lot and starting the conversation by saying you have to buy a car and have to buy one today.

And in this case, the Used Car Salesman is Jerry Jones, who is the most used-car-salesmany GM in the NFL.
