I know this is a waste of time on an eagles message board.
You guys only hear/believe what you want to, what will give you comfort.
With that said, let me offer some facts and dispel some myths that have already festered into fact on this site.
FACT: Romo will be at worst a very good QB, and could be great. 4 preseason, 10.5 regular season and one playoff game is plenty of action to judge him. I saw every snap he took last year. He has displayed every skill/talent you would want to see.
MYTH: Romo played poorly his last 5 games when Dallas went 1-4. Romo went 4-1 in his first 5 starts with a QB rating of 115 plus. In his last five games he produced an average, not poor, but average 77 QB rating. This drop in QB rating had more to do with better competition and a defensive collaspe than any real drop in Romo's play. In fact, the only bad game Romo had was against the Eagles. Bottom line is that he had a 95 rating for the year which is outstanding.
FACT: The 2007 defense will be the best Dallas has had since 1994, maybe better. They will send 4-5 players to the probowl. Roy reported at 221 lbs down 15 from last year and the same weight he played as a rookie when he was dominate in all phases. Under Phillips, Ware will be sent after the QB twice as often as he did in 2006 and make a run at 20 sacks. LB James and DE Canty have also shed weight. The whole D looks leaner and meaner.
FACT: Owens is back to T.O. status. He's healthy, HAPPY and focused. He's been killen it in camp. The Cowboy beat reporters are very impressed and are seeing the guy they thought Dallas was getting last year. HE HAS CAUSED NO PROBLEMS AND HE WONT. The only player outshinning him so far is Romo. I could cut and paste some of the training camp comments on Romo, but half you guys wouldn't believe them, the other half would have to change underwear.
MYTH: Davis was a poor FA pickup. Is he a disapointment as the 6th pick in the draft? Yes. Did Dallas overpay him? Probably. But as I thought prior to the start of FA, this years class was destine to be overpaid. Too much money chasing to few players. Davis' deal was identical to two other deals given to OG of similar preceived worth. Bottom line is that he is a huge upgrade over Rivera. That alone will upgrade the OL from average to good.
FACT: The 2007 Cowboys are a SuperBowl contender. They have a top 5 defense, a top 5 QB and top 5 offensive skill players.
