-Even if it was against the Cardinals, it felt GOOD to see them win a game comfortably.
-Not trying to toot my own horn, but before the season started I thought Anthony Henry was exactly the type of CB the Cowboys needed. They needed a big, physical cornerback that could throw receivers a changeup from TNew's cover skills and also stop the run. More importantly, it was apparent that Henry has good hands and Dallas need to increase the amount of turnovers they forced. What we're seeing is that opposing teams will not throw TNew's way and will go after Henry instead. Henry is playing very well and because he has such good ball skills and teams become more one dimensional having to throw it his way, the defense is now creating turnovers and sacks.
-I don't think anybody has mentioned this, but Dallas committed ZERO penalties today. Wow.
-I thought Ware played pretty good in the end, not great. Seemed to struggle in the first half. But, what I liked is that he kept plugging away and played much better in the second half.
-Torrin Tucker played well today and the Cardinals seemingly committed 47 offsides penalties.
-McBriar, 3 kicks. Average yards per punt...53.3.
-Call me crazy, but I like Scott Shanle in the lineup more than I do Dat Nguyen and I have nothing against Dat's play.
-the opposing kicker made a 47 and 52 yarder today. Stop me if you've heard this before.
-Overall, if you told me that Dallas would be 5-3 before the bye I'd be happy with it. They haven't been killed in any game which was a far cry from last year. Also, they'll have a +3 Turnover ratio, on pace for 50 sacks this year, and 8th in points allowed per game.
If this team can stay healthy, if they can get some decent field goal kicking, if they can stop fumbling snaps, and if they can "get out of their own way" there's no reason why they can't make the Super Bowl. However, all of those are big "if's."
