My Meaningless Thoughts on the Game...

Hostile even tho he was horrible last night as you put it, he still ended up with a qb rating of over 70%
:)
More frosting on a cowpie and calling it cake.

We still lost.

We still were down by 5 when he came in and went further into reverse.

We still have questions at QB.

You want a big slice of this cake?

Yeah, but he's got that rain man thing to fall back on.

You have me on that one! A double-digit IQ gets you a free pass I suppose!

Double digits?

You are generous with your praise today.

He will prove you wrong next week, just wait Hostile.

I get it, hang my hope on your promises.

Oh, and I'm not wrong. He played badly. That is the crux of all that I have said.

I think if you go back and read all 30k+ of my posts, or at least the ones about Bledsoe, that I've never once given him the benefit of the doubt or leeway because of 14 years.

I don't care if he had less experience than Romo. The way he was playing was unacceptable. For last night, Romo didn't play any better than Bledsoe has. I could care less about his tenure. You won't see me saying he has 4 years in this system to Bledsoe's 2 either.

I don't play the excuse games. The reality of the situation is he stunk. He stunk. 3 picks in one half stinks. Asking me to smell it again from another angle or upwind isn't going to change the stink.

So, ya'll can hang your hats on Bledsoe's 14 years and pretend I'm choosing Bledsoe over Romo or whatever you need to do to justify what I'm saying or rationalize it. It won't change the fact that I haven't excused or accused either guy, and have merely pointed out what is irrefutablly true.

If he plays well, and we still lose, that can be "hopeful." But "hope" on a poor performance? I just can't get excited about that. I just can't.

MW brought up the Playboy analogy before, excuse me for going back to it. Yeah, you can get more satisfaction from your first time with a girl instead of dad's magazines, but if she barks at the moon are you going to brag about it and beat your chest?

Hos, I understand what you're saying. Romo's performance ended up no better. But I'll admit it sure felt better and it looked to me like the team responded to it. I'm guessing the Bledsoe era here is done because I can't see turning back the clock. All I can do is look at the positives, and I think there were some, and hope that things improve. Didn't you see anything that was better?

So your sure with 100% accuracy he will look horrible next week?

The good news is that the O-Line doesn't seem to really be getting beat physically.

What game were you watching? Strahan beat them around the corner and it was a jailbreak up the middle.

Praising bad play won't make things improve. It won't make the INTs go away. It won't empower Romo to be all that we all hope he can be.

All praising bad play accomplsihes is to lump us in with the Commanders fans who orgasm at every off season's signings and proclaim better days are ahead. Are they?

Based off last night's performances, I still think that is up in the air.

I just told this to someone in a PM, but I'm going to repeat it here. This reminds me of when Q got waived. People were actually ecstatic about it.

I was easily one of Q's biggest detractors. Go back and look at the posts those days. I never celebrated his release. I knew it was coming months before it happened. You know why I didn't celebrate it?

Because all it meant was 3 years and a high draft pick got wasted (along with him).

I am not a Bledsoe fan, nor am I anti-Romo, so anyone reading my thoughts that way is simply way off base.

I haven't said one thing about the future now have I? You're fishing without bait.

Bad play yet he still had a 73.7 qb rating, which by the way is 65 points better than Rex Grossman last week on monday night.

Hostile you can not honestly say that Romo looked worse than Grossman last week can you?

Let me try to sharpen my aim. I am not accusing you of being a Bledsoe lover, supporter anything. I think there were hopeful signs of progress with Romo. (and yes there was plenty of bad too) And my point in comparing their experience is just to show that there is at least a chance that Romo can improve with more game action. With Bledsoe, he won't get better. He's had all the game action and his problems, interceptions, etc., are systemic.

I could care less about Rex Grossman.

I don't need to feel better about my QB by bashing someone else's. I just don't.

Pointless.

Thank goodness he threw a meaningless TD to Crayton, or that warm fuzzy 73.7 would have been sub-50. But hey, if you don't have moral victories, all you're left with is a QB that blew chunks in his first action. What fun is that?

Im just making a point its not as bad a performance, as others recently.

Not to mention Rex has had quite a bit of game experience.

There is also a chance that Romo can't improve. I'm not going to make that prediction however, so don't try and go down that alley.

He played badly. Why is that so hard to admit?

Hope? Man, I think there's too much focus on the outgoing guy and that's causing the myopia.

Still better than Grossman right?

Exactly, and some people actually thought Carr had played as well as his 100+ QB rating before our game with them.

And I'll say it again since it clearly didn't register. I could care less about how he compared to Rex Grossman and his level of experience.

This is like giving me an ugly dog and saying I should be happy because someone else has an uglier dog. Someone else's dog being uglier doesn't make yours eye candy.
