- Went to the game last night. It was absolutely crazy. The lowest price you could find tix was for $200 a piece. I'd say getting tickets was almost like the Yankees vs. Red Sox in a the playoffs time of exclusiveness. There were very, very few people selling tickets to the point where my friend asked "is this a holiday for scalpers." By 7:15pm you couldn't find any scalpers with 2 tickets together and the parking lots were jam packed with people watching the game on their TV's outside (it was a perfect night of weather to do so). We got in by paying $225 a piece for nose bleeds. A few of my friends didn't get in and had to go to their 3rd sports bar in Midtown to get a decent seat. After the game we hit the gentlemen's club and nearly half of the people there were wearing some sort of Cowboys gear.
- We'd walk by some Falcons fans and they would've boo us in a good natured fashion. But nothing shut them up when I would yell, "AT LEAST OUR COACH DOESN'T WANT TO COACH A COLLEGE TEAM!"
- I've lived in Atlanta for 6 years, can't wait to move and don't care much for the Falcons, but to their credit the Falcons fans at the Georgia Dome are about as good natured and friendly fans I've ever met at a stadium. Usually if you go to another stadium with the opposing team's jersey you're subject to fights, grief, and jerks who want to impress their buddies. But I've never seen that happen at a Falcons game. Kudos.
- It's great to see that we still haven't figured out how to cover a fullback.
- I'm a believer that Owens should get suspended. I'll give him credit for being an honest person, but I think one of the issues with sports these days is that we put up with this crap all of the time. I'm a gigantic Carmelo Anthony fan and he's a legitimately good guy, but a message needs to be sent to players that you cannot afford to make a terrible decision like that, even if it's in the heat of the moment.
- Miles Austin had a rough day.
- I saw some mental errors by Pat Watkins. But I think Keith Davis is no better and doesn't seem to have the capabilities to make plays, so putting Watkins in there is probably best.
- Julius was frustrating to watch. Seemed to run into his own guys all of the time or run into the one spot where the defender could make a tackle on him. He's a decent back and I actually like his receiving skills now, but he's not much in the way of being elusive and especially at breaking tackles.
- DeMarcus Ware is a beast. Can we clone him?
- Well, I'm happy about the win and all and saw from the Saints game that Romo wasn't the issue, the offense just had to play better. They did this for the most part and it wasn't a coincidence that Romo had great stats. But, the defense needs a lot of improvement. Typical Zimmer, take 3 quarters to figure things out and then over compensate for it. I think we need to find a way to move Roy to LB in the nickel package to improve our speed and coverage there. Plus, Bradie is terrible at blitzing as well. Huge kick by Grammatica and a good job of the team fighting back when they were down. Now they have 2 games to go. I'll take 10-6 and winning the division, but 11-5 and the division sure has a better ring to it.
