Ealy is more of a Strong Side DE, IMO and those are much easier to fiind than a super quick WDE. Also, most of the existing guys on the would be best at SDE (Crawford, Mincey and Selvie).

McCullers is the least likely DL in the draft to be a Marinelli type player. He just does not have the quickness for Marinelli's scheme. Also, the 2nd is really early for him, IMO, even for teams where he is a better fit.

Dozier or Trai Turner in the 4th would be great; although both could be gone by then.

Isn't Redd really slow? I think there will be a lot of RBs available even the 7th round.

What's your scouting report on the DE Autry?

I would like to see a DT in the 7th.

I don't see the Cowboys selecting either of the 1st or 2nd round picks that you have chosen.

I like Dozier and Turner for the guard spots, but literally... that's about it in that whole mock.

Ealy, IMO, isn't really what the team wants for a weakside DE, which is what the team needs. They have Crawford and Bass that should be pretty good strongside ends. Ealy might have decent straight line speed but his movement skills aren't that good. He's an ok player but not the edge rusher the Cowboys want to replace Ware. I know a lot of media mocks have Dallas taking Ealy, but I don't think they know what they're talking about.

As for McCullers, I think that I would have a better chance of getting drafted by Marinelli to play DT. McCullers is the antithesis of a Marinelli DT. When a team comes out in the media and says they are looking for quick-twitch players and that speed is more important than size... I think you can pretty much take a guy who is 6-7, 350 pounds off the list. No offense man, I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just saying to maybe pay a little more attention to what your favorite team is looking for and less attention to the player write-ups produced by the mass media.

The rest of that draft (except for the two guards) is pretty nondescript. If we ended up with that draft, I would probably be as upset as I've ever been for any draft in the Cowboys history.

Redd no way give me Glasco Martin the Baylor TD machine

What's your scouting report on the DE Autry

The junior college transfer accounted for 42 tackles last year, including 9.5 tackles for a loss and 4.0 sacks.

At 6'5" and 255 pounds, Autry is an athletic pass rusher. He improved with each game last year, and as the schedule increased in difficulty, Autry seemed to raise his level of play.

that's about all I could dig up in a hurry

I reviewed a little game footage. He looks like a reasonable UDFA developmental prospect. He's fairly strong and has decent quickness. He's another one of those guys that looks like a Strong Side DE because he has some size/length but lacks the elite quickness for WDE.

He had terrible times at his Pro Day, but I don't think he's that slow.

Denico Autry

Weight: 273

20 Yrd Dash: 2.87

I think using our 3rd round pick on Trai Turner is a good idea.

Same here. Dozier is about the only player I would be comfortable with. The Ealy/McCullers early picks would make me intensely angry.

I like the effort, but I can't say I like the mock. I like Turner, Schofield, Byndom picks. If you look at Byndom he has elite physical talent, which all of the UT fans already knew. Not sure if it was just such a bad defense that he didn't show well this year or not. Worth a pick in the 7th if he is there.
