I just used the picks we have, no trading up or down. For available players, I used drafttek.com's latest mock.

2 Louis Delmas FS Western Michigan
3 Herman Johnson G LSU
4a Antoine Caldwell C Alabama
4b Scott McKillop ILB Pittsburgh
5a Pat White QB/WR West Virginia
5b Johnny Knox WR Abilene Christian
5c Joe Burnett CB Central Florida
6a Hunter Cantwell QB Louisville
6b Antonio Appleby ILB Virginia
7a Donald Washington CB Ohio State
7b Ra'Shon Harris DE Oregon

not enthused with Delmas, but that is a great mock, the rest more than make up for it, and like I've said before, I do like Delmas

we have no shot at Delmas

I'm with you on that line of thinking but in drafttek's latest mock they had him going 53rd to the Eagles.

I like it okay...even a lot...but who wouldn't...almost all of the picks are borderline unattainable.

Delmas could be gone near the top of Rd 2
Herman Johnson is possible in Rd3
A Caldwell will be gone in Rd3
McKillup may even be gone in late Rd 3 or erly 4
Pat White is LONG ggone by Rd5...amybe even 3 round s earlier
etc

Hey, but we can hope...nothing wrong with that.

Oh yeah, good idea dating the mock. I wish this site had date stamps.

I hate to just jump on the bandwagon and all, but seriously, this mock would be stellar if it actually happened.

The reason I use drafttek is:

1) I wanted a pool of players that is already determined. A lot of people use wishful thinking in their mocks. I have no say in how drafttek rates their players so I just pick the player that they have available I feel best fits what Dallas needs.

2) They are on one of the few websites who has a 7-round mock.

3) They update their mocks once or twice a week.

So all I do is look at who they have available when the Cowboys draft is and pick. I'm not saying Delmas will be there at 51 or that Pat White will be there in the 5th round. I'm just saying that's who I would pick there if the same players were available that drafttek has still left on their board.

It is a nice mock. The team would be a good shape depth wise if this mock panned out.

I want us to try and trade down in the 2nd and add a 3rd. This mock reflects us being able to do just that.....

2 - OLB Lawrence Sidbury - speed, aggressive, intelligence
3a - OL T.J. Lang - versatile, quick, intelligence
3b - SS Jonathan Casillas - quick, speed, versatile
4a - OT Sebastian Vollmer - power, work ethic
4b - FS Darcel McBath - quick, speed, range
5a - ILB Jason Williams - quick, speed, versatility
5b - DT Roy Miller - power, quick, work ethic
5c - WR Quan Cosby - quick, versatility, intangibles, intelligence
6a - CB Brice McCain - quick, speed, cover ability
6b - OT Lyndon Murtha - power, quick, intelligence
7a - ILB/SS Spencer Adkins - quick, speed, versatility
7b - CB Bradley Fletcher - quick, speed

UDFA
QB Jason Boltus - This year's QB dark horse, I hope we can get him as a UDFA
FB Tony Fiamatta - merely a blocking FB
RB Chris Ogbonnaya - not very productive between the tackles, but excellent in space, especially as a receiver out of the backfield
RB Marlon Lucky - all substance and absolutely no flash, definitely a lunchpail type of player
WR Isaiah Williams - size, speed, and vert (41) make him a sleeper WR for sure, and a great redzone threat)
WR Greg Carr - size makes him a great redzone threat
TE David Johnson - not very tall but still a productive TE, solid blocker
OG Steve Rehring - I believe he is better than he portrayed while playing out of position last season
DT Khalif Mitchell - adequate size for a 3-4 DT
DE Michael Bennett (Marty's Bro) - wouldn't be a bad option for practice squad
DE/OLB Henry Milton - much better on the D side as opposed to RB
S Al Afalava - quick, speed, nice range
CB Wopamo Osaisai - solid in coverage
CB Ryan Palmer - a gamer

I really dislike the Idea of drafting pat white to convert him to WR and I don't think he's there in the 5th.
