I've been working on mock draft software for roughly ten years, though my software currently does a couple more things than mock..power ratings being another feature.

After Thanksgiving, I loaded in a new data set, to get an idea what the draft order would be if the season ended today..

Loaded up a data set I had saved (based on Scouts Inc top 32..)

and cranked out a draft.

Not much different from some I've run previously. Both Detroit and Cinn have serious secondary issues. I don't see Prince or Pete falling to Dallas at this time. Value seems to be in defensive linemen where Dallas will draft..

Great work man! I have a real appreciation for the time it takes to do this.

Thanks.

I'll be giving a talk on the software I used December 2nd, at the Atlanta Perl Mongers meeting.

been saying this on an general nfl forum, but there's no way Detroit passes on DaQuan Bowers. History has shown over and over again you can get by with averege corners and safties with a superb pass rush. Suh is already one of the best, if not the best interior pass rushers. Kyle Vander Bosch and Cliff Avril should never stop you from taking an elite prospect. KVB is averege and gets by on motor and Avril is just averege.

Probably need to tweek the player rankings. JMO, but Bowers or Fairley will be the #2 ranked prospect behind Luck. The other will be 3rd. Patrick Peterson will likely be 4th, maybe 5th behind AJ Green. Prince Amukamara may not even be the 2nd ranked CB when it's all said and done either.

wow
very nice

I wonder if you have a tweak that adjusts players rankings after the combine to include the "work out warriors"!!!!
call it the Mike Mamula factor

but seriously great job

I kinda wish we ran a 4-3 and had a shot a Bowers
and I have a feeling Quinn is really gonna move after the combine even though he hasnt played this year
I have to search back in the memory banks to remember he was a beast on the field last year

JMO, he'll need great workout #s to stay in the first round. He was great as a sophomore, not much as a freshman and as we know didn't play as a junior. I doubt he goes top 5 or 10, but probably around 15. Quite a few pass rushers in this draft will also hurt his stock.

Don't the Bengals already have two good CB's? Would they take a 3rd?

Cincinnati has general defensive weaknesses across the board. Reevaluating my needs set, I'd probably add a DE as a potential first round choice to them, which does change their pick.

I'm not going to bother posting any new drafts until after more games have been played. My software, though, is web based and online. You're certainly welcome to ask for a login account and set it up however you please.

That's what it is designed to do.

David.
