Round 1
Calvin Ridley WR Bama
Dez takes a paycut and you line up Ridley opposite and take the lid off. Utilize Dez's strength to bring that S up to create a mismatch deep. Ridley def is going to fall with his combine. But teams loss is Dallas' gain. Day 1 starter.

Round 2
Trade down picking up a 5th
Josey Jewell LB Iowa
Smart and a tackling machine. You probably dont want him in there in nickle(but he can) which is when Smith slides over and plays with Lee. Jewell is a leader and just does the homework and knows the plays. This is the type of guy this team needs.

Round 3
Tim Settle DT Virginia Tech
Didnt run the way he probably would've liked. But this kid is going to be a steal for some team. Big and holds up vs double teams and can get after the QB from the NT too.

Round 4
Braden Smith G Auburn
Is better in tight areas which makes sense for him to move inside. Really strong and attacks rather then reacts. Can compete with a vet for the start.

Round 4(Comp)
DaeSean Hamilton WR Penn State
Not going to beat anybody deep but some say he's the best route runner in college. So he could eventually replace Dez on them under routes. Infuse hungry competition in this WR group. The team did this with the secondary and they played alot better.

Round 5(trade pick)
Jack Cichy LB Wisconsin
Depth for 2018 and should be a ST star right away. With the ability and smarts to work his way into a starter role. Its time Dallas starts drafting smart football players instead of just athletes. Has had injury problems, but i think limiting his snaps in a developmental role will let him get hisa strength and confidence back.

Round 5(comp)
Deshon Elliot S Texas
Made alot of plays in 2017. Probably dont want him in coverage some say, but seemed to always be in posistion to get the turnover.

Round 5(comp)
Darrel Williams RB LSU
Big RB who can handle the ball and can be a receiver out of the backfield. Comes from a big run school so he knows how to block the blitz. Or he wouldnt have been on the field.

Round 6
Brandon Parker T NC A&T
Huge guy who should spend time on the PS and develop but could be that swing guy in a yr. Or could just make the transition to the nfl smoothly and make the 53.

Round 7
Jordan Thomas CB Oklahoma
Struggled through some injuries in 2017 but has great skills. Just needs to get that confidence back and stay healthy.

Nice Mock if we go with Ridley in the first. I would just change Round 4 WR. I think we have to many WR candidates. I would rather take another OL or DL

I dont think TW will impact much if any, and i dont think Noah Brown is anything more than another body.

Dez Bryant
Calvin Ridley
Cole Beasley
Ryan Switzer
Daesean Hamilton
Terrance Williams

As far as OL goes. I think Green will be played at T this yr and strictly tackle. Think dallas resigns Cooper. They only take 7/8 OL anyways on gamedays.

I really like Braden i the draft.

I was liking it and worried as I scrolled down that the oline problem wasnt going to be addressed till late. You did a great job.
Im not a Ridley 1st round guy but there is no denying the need. again good job.

Ridley in the 1st is extremely underwhelming to me. Not that big, not that athletic, and not that young. Maybe a safe pick, but not top 20 pick worthy to me.

Hell no to Josey Jewell in the 2nd. Athletically limited 2 down LB’s aren’t hard to find.

And Braden Smith never played any other positions besides OG, where is he moving inside from?

If we could get the guys you have us getting in rounds 3-7 id be very happy, but have a feeling at least 3 or 4 of them will go earlier.

Don't underestimate what the team thinks of Noah Brown. He is 21 years old, close with Zeke, blocks really well and the most important thing is he is cheap. He should get better and he is younger then Ridley. Realistic draft by the way.

People need to stop worrying about what these players do in tights. Anybody that has watch Ridley play can see he's the best WR in collegefrom this draft

Jewell had 1 bad game this yr and that was defending Barkley. Show me a LBer who stayed with him this yr.

Smith has played RT in 2014 and 2015 not exclusively as he was starting in place of injuries. And the team was moving him out to RT again this yr but Auburns guards were bad. So they moved him back inside before the first game.

So he was playing hurt this season? I heard the hype, and all I saw was burnt toast on the field. I mean he was just dreadful, at least in comparison to the hype......speaking of the POS Sooner btw.

Looks nice most of those players will be gone well before you have them drafted though.

Really like this mock. Addresses needs without reaching and adds depth in places the team needs it. I like the idea of bringing in competition to the WRs and seeing who comes out on top. Good job.

Nice mock, but honestly I dont think Jewel will be there at our pick in the second, let alone if we trade back. He has been going up in draft stock and I wouldn't be shocked if he sneaks into the first if Vander-esch is taken before Philly picks. Here is my mock if you are interested:

1: Vita Vea DT Washington - "We wont take a nose tackle unless he has 3 tech attributes" Well Vea can, and has, played every single position on the D-line. And has done it well. This kid will be DOMINANT at the next level. His combo of size, power, and sheer relentlessness is insane, plus he is an amazing leader on the d-line. A CORNER STONE of our team. Not a question.

2: Tyrell Crosby OT/OG Oregon - He is a talented athletic man with CRAZY measurables. My biggest problem with him are his shorter arms, and footwork needs to be polished up a bit, but its hard to say if that was from the rust after his injury, or just technique. Not to say his footwork is bad by any means. But this opens you up to keep Lael at RT or move him to LG. Crosby is a starter at both positions too and sures up the best offensive line in the game. Smith goes down, you move crosby over, and put Bell back in at LG. No more Green nonsense.

3: Equanimeous St.Brown WR ND - 6'5", 214 lbs, 4.48 speed, 33" arms, 9 1/4" hands, 20 reps. Measurable wise this kid should be named a GOD. There are 0 numbers better than what EQ can do. He needs to polish his routes, and keep working on his release off press coverage. but at 6'5" 4.48 and being able to play outside and slot? Thts a scary man. THATS A SCARY MAN!

4: Josh Sweat DE FSU: Randy Gregory but stronger and faster, Clowney but with better run defense. This kid is a hard working role model on defense. his speed, his get off, its a ROD wet dream. I personally also believe Randy is going to come back sometime this season, and a pair of fast DEs like that could make for some crazy packages. Some fun Sub3-4 sets. Lee and Smith at LB and on the line you have: Sweat, Irving, Vea, D-Law and Gregory. NASCAR NASCAR NASCAR SPEED SPEED SPEED

4: Jerome Baker LB Ohio: This kid is instinctive, he is a leader, and has the physical traits to become a starting LB in the nfl. I think he is raw for sure, but he has growing he can do. Put him on the bench and have him spell our starter (Hitchens or Smith or other depending on how FA goes)

5: Luke Falk QB WSU: This kid comes from a spread style offense but MY LORD does he have traits. I love his accuracy, I love his ability to escape the pocket, his arm is just pretty. His form is pretty. Honestly you bring him in to have your QB core of young players. Falk can be our safety net, and a damn good one too. I wouldn't be scared of having to start him day one in this offense tbh.

5: Bo Scary-burrow RB Alabama: Not a huge fan of him as a starter, but I think he can contribute a lot, especially on short yardage situations. It makes me really happy to know that we can take Zeke out on shorter yardage situations and still get what we need. Save some wear and tear on Zekes body over the seasons and maybe that way we wont run him down in 4 years

No point in putting in much effort to 6 and 7... probably not going to make the team.... just too many draft picks.
Other guys I would want after this point: Ralph Webb, Arrion Springs, Brandon Facyson, Darren CarringtonIII

Nice job. I'm not a fan of taking a WR in round 1 but I'm guessing all the other top talents will be gone by 19. I would recommend switching your second and third round picks, also might as another LB like Delucha

Out of all the players likely to be there at 19 I think Ridley is one of my least favorite. I'm not sure on Jewell in the 2nd either but we definitely need WRs and LBs just wouldn't draft either in first round unless Edmunds is within decent distance to trade up and get.

The theme seems to be getting as many players as possible with limited athletic ability.

I like Ridley but don't think he'll make it to #19.

Dez with a pay cut is a disaster waiting to happen. He was unhappy last season about not getting the ball enough despite being one of the most targeted WRs in the league. Imagine Dez with a forced pay cut, less targets and a rookie being the bell of the ball at WR as the 1st round pick.

The top criteria in the modern NFL at LB should be coverage. The Cowboys have played more Nickel than base the last several years. They can get cheap free agent run stuffers but coverage LBs are hard to find. The highly rated NFL LBs are very good to elite in coverage ability.

I like Settle but a slow forty should not have much affect on a 1-tech DT. I think he goes in the 2nd.

All of the remaining players lack athleticism. The CB had an inctedible 3-cone but slow forty so he has some athleticism.

I'm OK taking the smart over-acheivers here and there but not 7+ of them.
