I would love this, but that love follows Eric berry. I don't think there is any chance the chiefs let him go.

Just out of curiosity...who would our CB's be? Carr, Scandrick, Jones?, ?

I think a more realistic scenario is signing another member of the Chiefs secondary (Sean Smith) and turning that 4th round CB into a SS that can compete with Wilcox/Church at SS. Leave Byron where he is at FS and let him develop.

As far as your draft..the 1st 3 rounds would be an A+. Our front 7 would be greatly improved while also securing a future starting RB. Oakman? Mehh, wouldn't hate but there are better picks along the d lone still i would think

Might be the case, but Cheifs have Berry, Johnson, Smith, Hali, all UFAs Sean Smith being the CB i would think would be the priority and most expensive. The guy is going to get a big deal. You think they can afford Berry too? And Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali? I can see them drafting a S

I really think this team found somebody in Olotaye. They left him on a island did a good job for the most part. I think with a Offseason he could be a nice pickup. And Harlan Miller isnt the name you hear about but the guy stood out in that Sr bowl. And yes theres always Carr. Next yr he wont be the LCB as he was in 2015. Scandrick will be that guy as he was that in Tc before he got injured. People forget how effective Scandrick has turned out to be. The main prioroty on defense should be the passrush. Because it dont matter if you have Carr or Norman starting in this defense because if there is no passrush it doesnt matter either way.

While Oakman might be worth a fourth, someone is going to pick him well before then just because he is physically impressive.

I dont think thats gonna be the case. Once he runs at the combine he will fall right back to reality.

Very much agree with you on Berry. I live in Chiefs country (not many Rams fans left these days) and he is loved by the fan base here. I don't think the Chiefs front office would want to deal with the PR backlash that would result with him leaving. On top of that, they don't want to lose his skill set. Him leaving KC is a longshot, IMO.

I think they'll probably let Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali walk. Ford will step in for Hali. Smith will be their first target to resign and he'll get big money. I think Eric Berry will give them a discount because of how much he loves it there. They'll be able to keep them both and still field a good defense.

I am curious about Carr, doesn't he still have a ton of guaranteed money left? Can he just take a pay cut, or does he have to restructure, pushing money down the line? I was under the impression the NFLPA didn't allow players to just take pay cuts, at least in regards to guaranteed money.

Carr has 4.717 in prorated bonus/restructuredbonus this yr and 2.717 next yr. I can see Dallas telling him take the paycut this yr and we will give an option for 2017. Im good with either. People like to bash this secondary, but forget nobody was pressuring the QB making it easy for Qbs to pick them apart.

I'm actually very interested in D. Johnson as a stop gap vet for us. His age should prevent a long, expensive deal and could fill a hole we don't have to worry about in the draft.

Oh, that's actually not as bad as I thought it was. I guess this year was the big year. He had something like a $16 million cap hit this year. I agree with you about the pressure issue though. I think this team desperately needs to find a way to get push up the middle. Whether it is addressed early in the draft or in free agency. They have to either get a real 1T or a 3T who can get to the QB with regularity. I like Crawford, but he hasn't shown he can be consistent even when healthy.

I love Derrick Johnson. I have followed him since high school and his Longhorn career. That said, he is in the twilight of his career and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to hear him retire. His play has been on the decline. If they bring him in on a one year deal, I can't argue that, but I wouldn't tie up more resources in him than that.

I like Myles Jack but no at 4. Do not like Collins, do know who rankins is or Harlan. I would take Elliot at 4, or trade don and still get him if possible, draft a QB if possible, but we do not really need to draft a QB. take a CB and Safety,

If we can get RG3 and do a slight trade back and get some extra picks. I would not complain. Do you think RG3 is better than Wentz or Goff in two years?

If RG3 comes in and his leg is fully healed I think he is better then both. When WASH had that very good OL his rookie yr with that running attack Griffin ate teams up. He's more talented and athletic. Thats the big question tho. Something was off for him in washington.

Have you seen his ankles? take a picture of him....cut the top half of his body off....and seriously look. On game days..they are gonna have to wrap his ankles so thick w/ tape....You might as well use that new shrink wrap steel to ensure he doesn't break.
