Foreword i see the boys signing Huff in FA once it gets here. No trades, too difficult to predict. Just a sit pat and let the draft come to you type mock.
9th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Tyron Smith, OT
I'm not predicting trades here. Moving down and taking Carimi is also an option. Carimi may be more NFL ready but 2 years down the line Smith has the potential to be top class material. I'm all for having a RT that can move and pass protect, opening up the run game and meaning mismatches with the opposing best pass rushers are nullified.
40th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Marvin Austin, DE
Character concerns aside Austin would be a top 15 player. Quick off the ball, good lower body strength can anchor against the run. In a very strong year for DL he could well go before this pick.
71st overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Will Rackley, OG
Interior OL is a must at some point. Rackley is likely to move inside for his T position in college. Potentially a centre later in his career he could well step in in year 2 as a starter if Kosier or Bigg depart. Our interior OL is dire in terms of depth.
109th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Ras I Dowling, CB
1st round skills with injury concerns yet he stil played in 35 college games. Height/speed/weight ratio off the charts, he's got wr ball skills. #4 cb ahead of Ball immedialtey.
140th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Kelvin Sheppherd, ILB
Successor to Bradie and cut from the same cloth. He and Lee are the future inside. Team captain to boot.
171st overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Mark LeGree, FS
Small school ball hawk, great speed , can also tackle. Ideal backup to any FA pickup we get(i see Huff as an almost certainty).
209th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Aldrick Robinson, WR
Quick slot type wr needs to get more physical.
7th round supplemental pick
Dallas Cowboys select Pep Livingston, DE
Good straight line speed, size to anchor at the end spot in the 3-4. Started 22 games in his last 2 years in a big time program. Has played inside and outside and has already graduated.
