First of all...I am super hot sexy, some of you are hot too but just not at the level of my sexiness and hotness. Just wanted to get that out of the way so there is no misunderstanding that you are beneath my levels of hotness and sexiness.

Now.

I have seen some threads where people want to blame the defense on the loss.
I have seen some threads where people want to blame the offense for the loss.
I have seen some threads where people want to blame the QB for the loss.
I have seen some threads where people want to blame the Coaching for the loss.

I don't think I have seen any threads, although I may have missed them, where people want to blame the Special Teams for the loss.

I would agree with all of the above. To be clear by all of the above I mean I did not see a reason to blame the Special Teams for the loss but I think it is fair to lay blame to the rest of the issues above.

We could not score in the second half and we could not stop the scoring in the second half.

Our offense consisted of check downs and I am pretty sure I was not the only one that seen a 3rd and 5+ yards scenario where before the play you said to yourself....well here is where they throw a short screen to Dunbar and hope he can make a play to get the first. And of course it was so obvious that was going to happen that everyone on the falcons defense and their grandma's knew it was going to happen so they were easily in position to stop the play right after the catch.

We don't have a WR on the active list right now that gets the respect and coverage of Dez. So there is no need to double cover on of the current WRs on the roster. Add to that the idea that Weeden has a strong arm but a noodle head that makes him scared to throw deep do to his accuracy and turn over issues and the other team has ZERO respect for the deep game now. So they are just going to load the box, look for short routes in the middle by Witten and crossing routes by Beasley and of course screen plays by Dunbar.

You know it is kind of crazy to think of the years that we were unable to run screen plays and now that we can run them, the defenses are going to know it because we are afraid to throw deep.

I thought to myself, what was the use of trading for a deep go route WR like Brice if they are not going to use him. I mean even if he can not catch a virus after being bitten by a hundred zombies...at least let him stretch the field. Then I remembered that they signed him after Dez was going to be out for some time and we still had Tony. So if we are going to keep playing Captain Check down with Weeden he is of no use.

Random thought...Weeden as Captain Check down reminded me of when we had Old man Brad Johnson filling in and he was afraid to throw anything past ten yards.

At this point they are going to have to get weeden to throw further down the field or they might as well put in Cassell or Moore.

Before the Boise state fan boy brigade gets going, I like moore but there is a reason he has not gotten any playing time. There is a reason Cassel keeps getting signed by teams. Neither are good as tony (for the boise state fan boy brigade conspiracy theorist) but we need to find the one who is going to give us the best chance to win.

Moore has the most exp with Linehan and probably the system. Cassel has the most exp playing starting minutes and reps as QB in the NFL.

Put all three in during the week of practice and let the best man win the spot.

Defense..>Defense Defense.

Just when you think they were playing good and as a unit, that second half happened.
I kept hearing how the Atlanta O-Line was killing it for Freeman but even though he had plenty of open holes, what I seen was plenty of missed tackles when it came to him. That needs to get squared away.

Team as a whole.

I think if the team would have sucked from the start of the game I would not have been so upset. Look...Tony Romo is gone, Dez is gone, Gregory is gone, Hardy is gone, Ro is gone. That is some pretty big blows on both sides of the ball.

Tony being the biggest and when he went down I thought to myself, if we can even manage to have a .500 record while he is gone we will be lucky. So a big part of me expected this type of team.

The problem was when we were looking like world beaters in the first half and esp the first quarter. I think it lulled me into a false sense of hey this team can do it only for the harsh hand of fate to pimp slap me back into reality.

So try and keep that in mind. This team with out Tony Romo and Dez Bryant on offense. The team without Greg Hardy, Gregory and Ro on defense. Heck this team with Tony Romo missing alone is a team that will find it a hard path to win games.

I just hope we don't do another situation where we show up gangbusters and look great only to totally reverse it in the second half. A game where we took a one hour energy drink and a mound of sugar only to crash in the second half.

One thing I can hang my head high about all of this...I am still hotter and sexier than you. But don't let that get you down, you just go on doing what you are doing and that will be good enough for you.

Probably had some good points in here, but I stopped reading to go pose in the mirror and see how I stacked up!

Just knowing that I helped you with your sig image way back in the day probably gets you an extra point or two on the hotness scale. If it does not, remind people that you are friends with me and I helped and you will gain those points in their eyes.

Great description. I agree with most of your post, except the sexiness, of course. :)

the next man up theory only goes so far especially when its your starting qb who is out this team will be very lucky to win one game until romo comes back. more than likely they win 6 or 7 games this season and romo don't have many more throw away seasons in him

You are probably a little hotter than I am, but my charm and wit are unparalleled. :D

On to less important things...

• No doubt the Cowboys only have one Dez Bryant. Most teams don't have any. But I think the coverage Atlanta played probably had as much to do with the guy throwing the ball as it did the guys catching it.
• So, I laugh every time I hear (read) anyone (Broaddus) saying Tony Romo wouldn't have made any difference yesterday.
• I'm not a big Matt Ryan believer. Oh, he can throw the ball, no doubt, but get in his face just a little and he starts making bad decisions. The difference between the first half and the second in week three was a little bit of pressure. Julio Jones is good, but if Ryan has a clean pocket, Jones is the best WR in the league.
• Imagine NE without Brady, Gronk, a starting guard, a starting LB, its three best pass rushers and its best corner. Or Green Bay/Seattle without Rodgers/Wilson and etc, or any other NFL team without its starting QB, best WR and the rest of those players on both sides of the ball. Take those players out of NY or Philly and we're all laughing our ***** off. (Pittsburgh, anyone?)
• So, chill! :D Help is on the way! I, for one, have not lost hope, and am very much looking forward to seeing what happens as this team begins to get healthy.

Hot and sexy? You look like the guy that was in that TV show with a bear..."Gentle Ben", I think it was called. In that show, the bear was better looking than the guy. That said, there is something to be said for high self-esteem. :)

My Girlfriend says that Cassell should be the QB because he is much more handsome than Weeden or Moore.

The WR Butler did play a lot of snaps. They often had him in when it was a pass and they had Street in when is was a run because Street is a very good run blocker.

The problem was that it didn't matter what the outside WRs did because Weeden had dumped the ball at about 5 yards to a RB, Witten or Beasley before the outside WRs ever got to the point in their routes that they would be looking for the ball. Even if Dez was in the game, Weeden was only going to throw it to him if he ran a short route.

Probably more like Mad Jack instead of Grizzly Adams...sometimes when the wife is being stubborn I would call her Old No 7, oh the mean looks that would invoke lol.

I got my bear shows mixed up...Gentle Ben was the one with Dennis Weaver...Grizzly Adams was the one I was attempting to reference. Good catch. Either way, the bear was better looking. :D
