My new home and a big secret...

I am currently building a new home...

Now... being the Cowboy fan that I am, I wanted to incorporate the revered star in some of the design without alerting the wife as to my ulterior motive...

I convinced her to go with a "Texas Star" motif...

Here are some of the early results...

I cut the star and backed it... then had the contractor lay it...

Actually... the front door star is currently in silver, but they ordered the wrong panels... the black colored panels are on their way...

I suggested the cobalt blue panels option, but my wife said "Don't push it"...

It reminds me when once upon a time I was in Army basic training.

There was a huge Unit emblem right smack dab in the middle of the entrance.

Looked beautiful, but God forbid you step on that beautiful emblem.

That was worth about a good 10 minutes out in the sand doing push ups and low crawling.

Needless to say, Dont let'em step on the STAR!

True that... we are very pleased thus far...

I have a neighbor building a new home, and he is actually making it a Cowboys home...

He is painting the tray ceilings blue and silver and incorporating the logo in th floor, walls, ceiling and furniture...

I couldn't have pulled that one off...

...nice looking place with great street appeal. I like the mature look to the trees around the property. Once you get the landscaping done it will look great.

Also, don't fret, there's still the yard design to incorporate your passion into. She can't control the entire property.
