My observations

- if I'm JJ it would be hard not to call the Pinkertons or some PI and start looking at ref's

- never seen a skinny LG succeed - crazy it took so long to get Williams off the spot

- Hurns and Gallup are way under used - throw more slants
BTW, Cooper started at LT for the Skins and held his own - should have been signed here

- 10 targets a game to Amari is a bit much, also Gallup is a better deep WR

- LVE is natural MLB - that's rare - about once in a generation

- Jaylon's play speed is stunning, I've never seen a 240+ LB that fast or quick

- one day that naked bootleg may get Dak killed

- Zeke was not feeling too good last night, a lot of hits the last 3 games

- get Heath some bonus money

- a rare thing happened last night, Dak took 4 sacks and we won

- Maher is an adventure

Jonathan Cooper at LT? He has not played OT in the NFL or college. I doubt if he played LT for the Skins.

Hurns is getting open more because of Amari Cooper.

You might not have noticed because he lacked instincts and sometimes ran the wrong direction but Bruce Carter was the fastest LB that's played for the Cowboys. He might be the most freakish athlete in team history. Sadly either a lack of intelligence or lack of motivation to study limited him to a mediocre NFL career. He ran a 4.2x forty in college at over 240 pounds. Local media often ask players who is the best athlete on the team. They all said it was Bruce Carter.

The RT blocked down (inside) on that bootleg play. I have no idea how that was expected to work without anyone blocking the DE.

Anybody that didn't like the Vander Esch pick should ban themselves from expressing opinions about football for the next year...

I just started watching the replay, its really funny watching the first quarter INT by LVE. On the return the Eagle players hit him and expect him to go down like a DB would and he barely moves. Its comical, 3 or 4 Eagles hit him and it didn't phase him at all.

And he is still skinny compared to the frame he will carry in two years.

That pick return was awesome. He put the truck stick on some of those dudes.

And now I can kind of see why guys go down so quickly when LVE hits them in the open field too.

Can you imagine if he did get up to 270 and didn’t lose any of his agility. He had a good interview after the game too. Humble kid. I like him and Jaylon. Man if Sean Lee could stay healthy that would definitely be our defensive triplets!

If Garrett and Co. are serious about making a run at this, they better be getting a short list of FG kickers ready.

He is becoming unreliable. And on a Garrett coached team, that is a scary thing.

Actually, I think it might work in our favor if our field goal kicker is not on the money. That way Garrett can think about scoring TDs instead.

Do we ever run the fake bootleg where Zeke gets it? Guess I’m always watching Zeke if he gets it and wonder if Dak continues the fake or if that’s part of the play.

You can add playcalling to that list. It was a lot better this time around because Jerry threatened to fire Garrett and Linehan if they don't shape up.

The play calling is still very questionable to me. The Oline played better and Zeke had a monster game was the only reason it looked better. There were only a handful of plays that looked a little different.

I think JG is coming back next year, they will find a new OC and QB coach. Which sucks, Dak is doing things a green rookie does, bailing out of good pockets, turning his back on the defense, can't see pressure.

I thought the play calling in the 3rd was NOT good.

We had 6 yds passing.

Cooper was at LG ... typo.

as for Carter, seems he was injured often

Yes, Carter was injured when drafted.

He is one of those players that probably would have had a better career if Parcells or Jimmy (or Belichick) had been his Head Coach during his 1st 2 or 3 seasons. Instead he had Garrett with Rob Ryan as DC as a rookie.

I said before that one of those coaches would have forced Dez to reach his full potential which could have been on the Randy Moss or Megatron tier but instead he was never top 2 in any season.

Something is going on with Maher. I don't think one of his 6 kickoffs made it to the end zone and he is supposed to have a rocket leg.....
And all of Jake Elliotts kickoffs were touchbacks. There was no wind at the game, I was there. Something is definitely wrong there.

I don't believe any coach can will injured body parts to heal, nor do I think Dez never reached his full potential.

I guess my explanation was to complex.

Bruce Carter's primary issue was lack of scheme knowledge and the "instincts" that come from studying film and the playbook. He only missed 4 of 32 games in his last 2 seasons in Dallas.

Dez unequivocally didn't perform up to his physical talent. He should have been an all time great NFL player but that didn't happen. His total numbers were inflated because Jerry demanded that he be targeted at a high rate. He fell off the map in 2017 at age 29 because he didn't have the knowledge of route running or mastery of the scheme that most veterans depend on once they start to lose some physical ability.

Playing devil's advocate, but if we are going to say this, how do we know it hasn't been poor play by the O-Line and Zeke not having big games that made it look worse than it was? I'm not a fan of the play calling in general, but it's really not fair to say the play calling is responsible for bad games, but has nothing to do with the good games. If it's a factor one way, it has to be the other way.

Cowboys ahd

:) you might want to look up the word "unequivocally". and IMO, no one ever "should have been an all time great NFL player" except for the coach :)

It seems to me both Carter and Bryant's primary issues, which may have held them back, were odd personalities. crazy people do crazy things.

If you're even half right, one can make an argument that if Parcels was the miracle worker some imagine he'd have made a decent QB out of Quincy or turned JJ into a rational decision maker or gotten Lawrence Taylor off dope. And Belichick would have changed Randy Moss into someone more to your liking

BTW, whoever is playing X in a timing system is almost always the 1st read and sees a bunch of targets.

Did JJ ever publicly say "throw the ball to Dez more" ? were does your statement "Jerry demanded that he be targeted at a high rate" come from? perhaps your imagination?

I'm not a big fan of this coaching staff or FO - but I don't just make up stuff to put them down - there's plenty of tape for that
