I usually wait until after the last preseason game to do this, so here it is. Players listed in the order in which I believe they should appear on the depth chart.

QB: Romo, Orton (2)
RB: Murray, Jones, Tanner, Dunbar (4)
FB: Vickers (1)
WR: Bryant, Austin, Harris, Ogletree, Beasley and Coale (6)
TE: Witten, Phillips, Hanna (3, Flip Hanna and Phillips in passing situations with two TEs)
OT: Smith, Free, Parnell (3)
OG: Livings, Bernadeau, Leary, Loper (4)
OC: Costa (Yuck), Arkin (Double yuck) (2)
DE: Hatcher, Lissemore, Spears, Crawford, Geathers (5)
NT: Ratliff, Brent (2)
OLB: Ware, Spencer, Butler, Wilber, Hamilton (5)
ILB: Lee, Carter, Albright, Lemon (4)
CB: Carr, Claiborne, Jenkins, Scandrick, Butler (5)
S: Sensabaugh, Church, McCray, Silva (4)

Special Teams: Jones, Bailey, L.P. (3)

Hopefully we can sneak Johnson onto the practice squad, but I just can't justify keeping five safeties especially if the last guy is a late round pick who has shown nothing due to injury.

looks good man. only difference i have with you is possibly coleman over dunbar and FA over loper.

I think you are looking at the roster the wrong way.

I think most teams construct this first as "who dresses" -- that gets to the first 45. You subtract for injured guys like Wilbur and Jenkins. So now you have 6 spots to work with. Aside from maybe one spot for a vet OL, you have to devote those positions to developmental guys

finally somebody with enough sense to realize that McQ isn't going to make the opening day roster.

I'd bet we only keep 8 lineman the first week. We will resign a vet in week two, whether it's Dockery, McQuistan, Holland or someone else. I would likely keep Johnson as well with that extra spot unless we can IR him.

If Witten isn't cleared I could see us keeping Szczerba for a week.

Am I crazy or isn't it 54 under the new CBA?

Edit* nevermind I was thinking about the 3rd qb designation thinking they expanded the total roster to 54 but they expanded the dress roster to 46

Mostly agree, except I'd lean towards Dockery over Loper @ OG (especially w/ the injury: Loper suffered a right hamstring strain in the first half vs. Miami)... and I think Connor makes the team, though I'm wanting Albright and Lemon to make the 53-man roster, also.

Not sure who would have to be bumped to make room for Connor, but I'd guess we keep 3 RBs on the 53, rather than 4. Try to get Dunbar (preferrably) and/or Olawale (especially if Dunbar doesn't clear waivers) to the PS as our 4th RB.

I've been wanting Johnson on the 53, so as not to expose him to waivers, but we may have to run the risk trying to get him to the PS given there are so many players in the mix to make the team, right now. Good problem to have, I guess.

As disappointing as I've been with Connor don't see him getting cut. I also think Dockery makes team over Loper. Jerry keeps gushing over Dockery everytime he gets interviewed. Said last night "this isn't the same Dockery" meaning he is a much better player then last year

I bet it is very close to that. No matter how you slice it fans will be dissapointed. After all is said and done 3 of these players won't make the cut. Dunbar, Wilber, Atkins, Connor, Hamilton, Johnson. And chances are more than likely they won't make it on the other side of waivers.

2 QB
3 RB Do we keep 4 RB? Dunbar out most likely
1 FB
6 WR I think Coale beats out Holmes
3 TE
9 OL Agree with offensive line. Dockery over Loper
7 DL I like Bass over Geathers
4 OLB Tough call between Wilber and Atkins. I take Wilber
5 ILB Tougher call between Conner and Hamilton. 1 stays
5 CB
4 S Johnson on IR with the new rule?
3 Specialists

Around 52 to 53. Might pick up someone else's cut for final spot.

Just heard Adrian Hamilton was released. No confirmation.
