I usually dont do mocks, but here are the players i hope we select in each round of this years draft.

1. Kevin Johnson CB (our biggest need going into the draft, and a steal if we can get him)

2.Tevin Coleman RB ( i dont think Gurley makes it to #27, and i dont value Gordon as 1st rounder)

3. Grady Jarrett DT

4. Bryce Petty QB (i personally like the kid, and wouldnt need to start right away, we can groom him to take over.

5. Cedric Reed DE

7. J.J. Nelson WR/KR

7. Darren Waller WR (6'6 240)

shoot away!!

Looks reasonable.

Will Reed be on IR?

I could live with that.
  • KJ, I think, would start for us year 1.
  • I agree with your logic on Coleman in the 2nd over Gordon in the 1st
  • Jarrett should fit too. I like him
  • I like Petty more than some around here, but not sure he's there at the end of the 4th and not sure I'd like using that pick on him there anyway. But I can live with it.
  • I'd prefer to not use both 7ths on WRs.

As far as I know it was torn meniscus and he has been working out....may be available for private workouts before draft....i think he would be ready by training camp

JJ obviously as a return man...and Waller has some freakish measurables

Certainly could do worse.

I would rather see Jones at CB but I could live with Johnson if that were how it played out.

I actually like putting later round guys on IR. It allows them some development time before having to earn a roster spot..

I like that idea too, I think Reed wouldve went alot higher if he didnt have the injury, so us getting him late in the 5th with a chance of playing this year could be nice.

Don't like the 4th but I won't beat a dead horse on that....

Everything else looks good though.

And I know some websites still have him listed fairly low but I can't see Waller lasting that long. I really can't see 6'6 235 with a 4.4 40 lasting anywhere near the 7th. I'm thinking some team will take him in the 3rd.

I saw Petty on with Gruden, and i came away very impressed with him, I doubt he makes it to the 4th round either, and i wouldnt spend a 3rd on him this year. but he would be a perfect QB to groom for the future.

You address the three big needs the first three rounds with likely available players.
i like it.Those players in my mind would be good contributors first year. Good

I would almost bet money that pretty won't make it out of the third. He will be a good prospect to groom for a couple years. For the first I'm torn between kj and Jones. Both I think will be good but I think I would have to pick kj.

Bryce Petty looks like he's trying to kill someone every time he throws the football. Hella arm strength and a lightning quick throwing motion.

Nice mock.

Really, really like the first 3 guys. If you could add another defensive player instead of Petty, and Frank Clark in the 7th, I'd love it.

Honestly, if I was to change anything.... I would probably add an OL somewhere in there. I think we will draft like a middle of the pack LT that converts to RT. I don't mind Frank Clark instead of Waller as I think he will go before the 7th round.
