Can Wade please tell the team they aren't allowed to tackle by the facemask?

I know Westbrook is short and has the extra bars on his mask but come on, we got away with one early then were nailed every time afterward.

other than that, I am ecstatic with the win. I burned about 2000 calories in the last four minutes pacing my front room.

I thought I was the only one.

Tomorrow, I'm getting by on pure adrenaline.....I won't sleep a wink.

Those Facemasks Calls are a killer, I thought Tank's might cost us the game.

yea i said this another post that i dont understand what our players obsessions are with putting their hands in the opponents facemask not just on defense but on offense as well. they really need to stop with the BS! we got away with 2 other ones as well. Note to team: "DONT PUT UR HANDS ON THE OPPONENTS FACEMASK!!!!!!" haha ah...

THe officiating was horrible while they got the facemasks, they missed about 5 in game not to mention some of the blatant holding calls like the one Avant used to keep Jenkins from tackling Westbrook on the bubble screen, lets not forget the Henry non PI with lewis having a handful of jersey.

I saw another angle of the jenkins hold play during the westbrook first TD. Not only was Jenkins held but so was Tnew on that same play. :banghead:

Good point. It is mind boggling really. It doesn't seem to matter who the coach is, this team just can't play smart football. I don't get it.

It would be nice if we got through one game without a facemask.

and holding and false start.

I noticed on the play Ellis had a sack, the Eagle held him the entire play and no call was made. The refs are off to a slow start this year for sure.

I thought the Eagles also got a break on a hit to Romo's head that was not called.

You know my point is if you aren't gonna call holding then why call the proctor hold? I saw ratliff completely turned backwards by holds twice and nothing was called. Just call the damn game even.

Our team plays stupid and maybe thats why they don't get the benfit of the doubt.

Yep. Now that you mention it, the defender raised his arms and with his right arm he struck Romo in the helmet, basically from the top of his helmet to his facemask. I've seen tackier penalties called, especially when the QB is the victim.

Several face mask penalties are usually because players aren't ready to play. (one could be just an accident, but several are not)

Wade blames himself when players aren't ready to play. ...I agree 100%, This seems to be a reoccurring ordeal...

We have Terrence Newman, Pacman Jones, Orlando Scandrick, Anythony Henry and Mike Jenkins at CB. All capable of playing man defense, yet we hardly ever see it. (though don't play Henry man on speedy receivers) Does that bother me? A little, but not as much as playing 12-15 yards off of a receiver when you're blitzing 5-6. That should be when you bump the receiver with man over. I don't know how many times the defense gave up quick routes on 5-6 man blitzes. That style of defense allows teams to convert third and up to 10 pretty easliy.

Roy getting beat deep is a tragedy, though he tends to cover deep balls better than medium and short passes. Just not against speedy guys like Santana Moss and now DeSean Jackson.

Question: The Cowboys punted the ball and then the Eagles got a penalty that backed it up to the 10 yard line. The game goes to commercial and then comes back and the Cowboys are re-punting the ball? PLEASE don't tell me someone on the Cowboys made the idiot call to rekick instead of letting the Eagles take the ball at the 10 yard line.

The Cowboys offensive line was pretty much completely dominated in the running game for most of the game, specifically the first half.

Today, Brian Dawkins == Roy Williams. Both can play the run great, but they both suck *** against the pass.

Stanback was a liability last night. After Romo's INT he started chasing Samuel, then just stopped. Samuel was still running with the ball and he just pretty much stopped chasing him. With his speed, he could have easily ran him down from behind. F for his effort. He followed that up with something else, but I seem to have forgotten, I think it was on a kick return. I will have to rewatch the tape. THEN he had a false start on the very next play! Stanback gets an F F F F F F.

Polk was great. 2 FGs one from 51 and one from 48 and 5 for 5 on extra points.

We made no attempts to block any field goals or extra points. Why? Because we don't want a running into the kicker penalty? Scandrick is supposed to be a kick blocking machine. Why don't we use him?

The Cowboys had containment troubles early in the game. Generally that can be corrected by half time. It wasn't. Why?

I think it's offical now. We have the next Brett Farve in Romo. It will be feast or famine for the life of his career. Like Farve, he gets excited and gets tunnel vision and begins to rush (see force) things. We saw it on the INT last night. He was almost sacked and rushed the pass which caused it to sail on him. The TD to Tony Curtis last year in the corner of the end zone was the same thing, except nobody was anywhere close to Curtis. If someone had been just a little closer to Curtis, he sailed that ball so much it could have easily been picked.

Anyway these are a few thoughts on the game. No I'm not bashing the Cowboys as I saw great effort from the defense especially in the second half. Witten is a golden egg, I don't even think it's arguable that he is the best TE in the game. Some players make the pro bowl for a single facet of their game. He is a pro bowler in every facet of his game and he is tough as nails on top of it all.
