The FUTURE: Cowboys get new coach, whenever that may be, but will be soon. Romo has a few bad games or gets injured and some no name we just drafted comes off the bench and plays good. The end of Romo just like the end of Bledsoe. That is the only way Tony Romo leaves Dallas. The only way. Get ready...Its coming.

If he goes down and Orton has a couple of good games, it could mean the end also.

As you saw today, people are open. The ball just can't get there. Over / under throws all over the place that would've directly resulted in touch downs. Switch Romo out with Brees, you're looking at us scoring in the 50's today.

He just signed a $100M contract. As much as some folks want to fantasize about it, there is not going to be QB controversy here for a long while.

Especially not with Kyle Orton.

I know this, wishful thinking. It's just that if he goes down and another QB does great, it will force Jerry to re-evaluate the position. Numbers don't make a QB. The quarterback position is the most complicated yet most important position in football. Not having the right guy is the difference between a Super Bowl champion, and guys who ALMOST does something.

No, it really really won't. Jerry doubled down on Romo with this extension. We've all seen how utterly terrible things have to get before he admits a mistake.

And honestly, if these team even had a high school level defense and a HC with a greater football IQ than a traffic cone we aren't having this discussion about Romo anyway.

Except that we've had decent defenses in the past and still couldn't get it done.

The key word here is competitive. We are not even competitive with Romo at QB over all for 8 years. We had a couple of years where we did pretty decent, but outside of those, we can't even beslightly better than average.

The difference between a SB champion QB and who hasn't won a SB is having a team around them that steps up when they're having trouble getting it done.

Brady had it. Peyton had it. Brees had it. Rodgers had it.

Amazing, isn't it?

You think Seattle isn't a SB favorite with Romo behind center?

Romo deserves blame when it's warranted. The Washington game last year was terrible. But I also know that they aren't playing for the division the last week of the season without him.

No QB is winning a SB with this team. Not one.

The problem with this thinking is that Bozo Jones will never in any way be able to pick up a QB capable of replacing Romo. Big Bill found Romo - Jerry Jones found Quincy Carter.

I don't care if you put Tom Brady on this team with this coach and this defense and most importantly with this GM. Things wouldn't be a heck of a lot better.

And Romo could quite frankly suck for another 5 years, doesn't matter. Jerry just wrote him a huge check, he's not going to admit he was wrong and pay Romo to ride the bench. Doesn't happen in this league with contracts that size.
