My opinion why we lost this game

Crucify me if you want, but the Cowboys played well enough to win. I put the reason for the loss squarely on the shoulders of Jason Garrett. When you have the ball on the two yard line with a chance to put the game away, don't get cute and try to throw the ball. You have momentum onyour side after Whitten makes the big play. You run the ball into the end zone. If you can't punch it in on the goround in 3 plays then you have serious issues with your running game. He calls a cute pass play (which almost gets picked) and then on 3rd down you've got your franchise QB running around trying to make a play and you fumble. Right there, I new it was over. We had the Jets beat and JG snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. That being said, I liked a lot of what I saw tonight. I think we've got a very good team that is going to improve a the season goes on. They did a lot of good things tonight, I feel bad for them because they deserved to win.

I won't crucify you, but that is probably the best run-defense we will play this season. JG did what he thought would work best considering what Dallas was facing. Three points would have been huge in the outcome of the game.

Garrett can't put two hands on the football for Tony.

I actually was impressed with how well the team played, given a dinged up Dez, 3 injured QBs, and the Jets' defense. I think all of that speaks volumes for Garrett's ability as a coach. I'm not disappointed in Garrett at all.

I was really impressed with how talented and disciplined the Jets defense is.

Jimmy Johson used to rate all three phases of the game offense, defense, and special teams. To me the blocked punt killed us and we lost the special teams battle.

I thought it was a mistake to have Bryant in there. He didn't do much after he got hurt and I thought we should have had some one else in there.

Did you think Garrett should've challenge the Romo fumble. I thought Romo's knee hit first before the ball came out.

It was close and at that point, I think you have to take a shot at it.

I agree, but you have to run the ball 3 times and if you get stuffed, you kick the field goal. We ended up with 0 points and a game changing turnover. I don't profess to be nearly as intelligent as the coaching staff and maybe I'm just frustrated, but they should have won the game.

That would have been a lost challenge and a timeout at the end of the game. The call was a fumble and it would have been inconclusive.

Garrett called a pass play on the goal line. Tony thought he called a fumble. A smart QB throws the ball away and kicks the field goal.

This was the first time in all of Cowboy history, that going into the fourth quarter with a two touchdown lead, that Dallas has lost the game. The very first time in all of it's history. That is partly from losing focus and not closing the game out. This team still is not able to do this. Another blocked punt; a final type drive where Tony Romo fumbles; and then all on the line and final drive situation where a ball is forced into very tight coverage with the very top corner in the league in front. At least the Jets knew how to continue through with the heat and execute at the end. There was the difference, injury disadvantages or not.

I agree that Garrett cost us the game. No excuse for the play calling at the goal line.

There were a few times when we went for the kill, in situations where ball-control was needed. The defense was fighting with one hand tied behind their back (using cb #4 & #5). I think Garrett can be a great coach, but last night he seemed to lose sight of the big picture.

(I was reminded of Andy Reid... yuck)

whats the official injury report on Dez...was it an injury or just cramping and out of shape?

We could have not turned the ball over and still kicked the field goal. The staff has been preaching turnovers this whole camp. I'll let others beat down Romo, but Dallas was out three points because a player was careless with the football, not because of playcalling.

My injury concern is upon Scandrick. The reports just following the game was he had either a high ankle pull or a broken ankle. That would mean someone from the practice squad coming up immediately.

...great game plan by Red: total fail (again) by Romo:banghead:

EXACTLY!!!!!! Garrett has not learned from past mistakes. Tony shares the blame, but he was put in a bad situation by the play calling. Also, Witten should try to bowl over smaller defensive backs and get into the end zone every now and then. If he scores, the game is over and we are not having all these discussions. At 265 lbs. he should have just bulldozed his way over the DB into the end zone inside the 5 yard line, or at least tried to do so.

I thought he should have. It also looked looked like on the Jets final scoring drive, when Dallas punted and it was called a touchback, it looked to me like it was downed inside the 1. Is that something that should have been challenged also? I mean, the Jets started that drive at hteir 20 and did us in with a 50 yard FG. Immagine if they started that drive at the 1?

Romo's fumble DID NOT cost us the game. Yeah it was very untimely and several things should have happened instead. However, on the next Jets drive we create a turnover of our own. If we score on that drive game over. Instead...well we all know what happens next. If you want to say we lost because of the int I can agree with that, tho I belive we lose in OT on the road with all our injuires.

YES, IT'S PARTIALLY JASON GARRETT'S FAULT BUT I LOST ALL RESPECT FOR ROMO'S GAME LAST NIGHT. HE'S TOO IMMATURE TO BE A STARTING QB FOR AMERICA'S TEAM. HE'S MORE WORRIED ABOUT "JUMPING AROUND LIKE A FOOL" AFTER A TD PASS AND TRIES TO MAKE THE BIG PLAY WHEN IT'S NOT THERE. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE DEFENSE THAT PLAYED ITS ARSE OFF FOR NOTHING JUST FOR THIS IDIOT TO THROW IT AWAY BY HIS IDIOT TURNOVERS!!! THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT IF ROMO DOESN'T MAKE THOSE TWO STUPID STUPID STUPID TURNOVERS, THE COWBOYS WALK OUT OF METLIFE ARENA WITH A VERY HARD FOUGHT VICTORY INSTEAD OF THE LAUGHING STOCK OF NEW YORK AND THE REST OF AMERICA!!!!

2 pass plays and 1 run play at the 3......is not perfect. I will not hate on em, nor judge it, but in order to win in this game...passing league or not........a team must be able to run the ball ESPECIALLY inside the 5.
