Folks, I just want to vent my feelings for this football team I have loved since 1970. No, I have yet to fully view the game with the Vikings yet, but I followed the Game Cast and read the game threads. I know enough as to what went on. Some of you will think I am delusional and maybe drank too much silver and blue kool-aid. Regardless, I don't care. I don't put a vast amount of stock into the pre-season.

1. This team is going to be good - REALLY GOOD! There is not a team out there that has me quivering in my boots.
- Dallas proved last season (with a weak pass rush), that they can go into a place like Seattle and drop the hammer on them.
- Dallas proved their toughness by going into Philly and belting them in the mush and take the division back over.
- Dallas proved their discipline by throttling the Colts when a division title was there to be won.
- Dallas proved their focus heading into the post season by not lying down to the Commanders on the final week of the regular season. Instead, they hammered them.
Dallas did this with a DEPLEATED DEFENSE with little to no pass rush!

2. Now the Cowboys completed an offseason to remember.
- Losing Murray was disappointing, but the Cowboys got the best of Murray before breaking the bank to keep his tough yards and his fumbles. They did the right thing!
- The acquisitions in free agency and the draft look to be the equal to that of the Dirty Dozen in 1975, or the early 1990s. The Cowboys have had FIVE STRONG DRAFTs in the last six years. Only the 2012 draft remains somewhat of a question mark.
- The arrivals of Hardy and Gregory, with a full offseason for Lawrence to get stronger, WILL BE THE KEY TO HOW FAR THE COWBOYS GO THIS SEASON! The improved pass rush should increase the winning percentage on 3rd downs for the Cowboys defense. Who knows what production Dallas will get from the Crawfords, Russell, Mincey, Edwards, and Gardner? I am highly confident it will be better than last year!
- The lack of pass rush is what did in the 1991 Cowboys heading into 1992 - then along comes Haley.
JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!

3. This team to me is ready to roll. I AM ALL IN!
- I personally believe the greatest pass rush the Cowboys ever had was the 1977 Cowboys to dominated Denver in Super Bowl XII. Dallas has an opportunity to surpass this in the coming years. IF they are anywhere close to the 1977 pass rush, this team WILL BE DEVESTATING!
- If that pass rush improves like I think it will, just watch how much better the secondary will suddenly be!

This Dallas team is capable of going 14-2 and rolling to the Super Bowl.

I am with you on this.
But be prepared for the negative nannies to take over the thread. Lol.
Just can't let that happen.

Now with only 1 PS game left, it's getting much closer to the 1st real game and does not seem that far off now.
Then after the 1st game, then the next 3, then we get Hardy and Ro returning. Then we can start to see how much this D really can and will improve.

Going to be a great season.

They're going to miss Hardy and RoMc something fierce in those first four games. They also have high level offenses in those games. I think the results and look of the team won't really be visible until after that four game stretch. Once they get all hands on deck they could have a great front 7.

Jerry is that you. Seriously, I think you are right or at least I hope you are. I am getting tired of these Niners fans bragging about their team. In the psychology world, it is called a reality check. I want Romo to win the Super Bowl just shut up one my Niner fan friend who commented to me tonight that Kapernick has made it to the playoffs and a Super Bowl which is more than Romo has done in his 12 years in the league. Can't wait for the seaso to start.

Gregory already will make us not miss Hardy until he comes back. Even though he is still raw, he disrupts. When Greg comes back....look out.

The offense should be fine as long as the RB's can stay healthy and Dez to get this hammy thing ironed out.

My only concern is ST's but that is to be expected since that is a mix and match unit right now.

The defense appears to be quite a bit better than last year and as I always preach......defense wins ballgames!

Agree with the OP but will add we will only roll if Romo stays healthy. We have absolutely NOTHING at the backup QB position. It was very irresponsible to not upgrade backup QB.

It's all about health, if they can get some wins early then keep everyone healthy later in the season there is a good possibility this team can win. The only thing unusual that I've seen this pre-season and causes me pause is the Special Teams. They've been beyond horrid and could cost us big time. I hope they get that squared away in the next 2 weeks. Yikes.

Great write up I really enjoyed that, I hope that we get the 6th Super Bowl win this year. It's been a long wait and the Cowboy's are due that Super Bowl win this year.

I worry about depth, at least this year....OL and QB....the future of our OL is very bright, but our backups are very young and raw, except for Bernie. So, if we can keep our starters healthy and allow are reserves to build their bodies in the weight room and to learn by watching the starters and film....they will be that much better next season. Also, we need Romo healthy all season long. Weeden cannot be trusted and those other two are jags at best. IMO, our biggest draft needs in 2016 are RB, QB, and OT.

But, if we can remain healthy, there is no reason why we can't compete for HFA in the NFC and even have a very strong chance to reach the SB.

I am optimistic about what our defense can become. With that being said, I'll wait until the games count and judge their performance.

This team can win it all with the talent they have. Of course, they could miss the playoffs as well. It's the NFL and crazy games and seasons happen.

I'm excited though and agree that there are no teams out there that really scare me.
