My Post Draft Thoughts

As some of you know, I didn't particularly like this draft and for many reasons, I'll try to be brief.

I hope we don't ever host a draft again in Dallas or Arlington (whatever) For the commissioner to come out with 3 former Cowboy greats to shield himself from the boos only to call out the fans for booing our own Cowboys. Ridiculous!!

Then to have a stupid Eagle Kicker clowning us like that really pissed me off, especially seeing that was one of the highest trending tweets in the world.

So the 1st round kicks off, I immediately get bombed by calls from a ton of relatives that I have from NY, telling me Saquon....Say Gone yadda yadda ...personally, I was hoping the Giants took a QB there, I really didn't want them getting Barkley and to compound that they got Will Hernandez with their next pick UGHH.

So as the 1st round picks are clicking off, we are suddenly 2-3 picks away from Derwin James, Edmunds, Ridley, Moore, and Rashan Evans, in the back of my mind I kept saying no way we are taking Vander Esch now...but Nooooo....Edmunds and James go off boom boom, and then we're on the clock and we have Drew and Irvin up there parading around for a WR and we go LVE ughh.

As for the picks themselves well here is my assessment of it.

Overall Grade C-

1. Leighton Vander Esch - D - Ever go into drafting hoping we don't draft a particular player and boom he's your first pick. I hope I'm wrong about Barbie 2.0, I would've like Evans better.

2. Connor Williams - B+ Williams can do the job at LG, but you don't have to invest such a high resource at LG people...example Leary was an UDFA.

3. Michael Gallup - C+ We passed on a lot of other better WR's in this draft, Gallup isn't the best or worst prospect, at best he is a WR2.

4. Dorance Armstrong - D Never heard of him, don't care for the player either, terrible pick in the 4th

4. Dalton Schultz - C+ at best he is Hanna, I doubt he is the future TE going forward

5. Mike White - C+ Luke Falk was sitting right there and we took White instead, Don't know the player that well. I really don't mind the pick as I'm not very high on Rush, I still feel a veteran QB should be signed before the season starts.

6. Tavon Austin - B if we can use him like the Skins use Thompson and use him on special teams I think its a good fit for us.
6. Chris Covington - D I really don't know what to say, we passed on better LB's, hopefully, a decent special teamer?
6. Cedrick Wilson - C headed to the PS, maybe sticks as a returner

7. Bo Scarborough - A Best player we got in this whole draft, would be great if he used similar to how the Pats and Eagles use Blount, he should help out on short yardage situations and get some goal line work so as we dont have to get Zeke killed all game long.

Taking a receiver with the first pick would have been bar none stupid. Great pick by sticking to what is the most important. Ramping up that defense. And shoring up the oline with one of the best lineman in the draft showed me they are finally understanding what it takes to build a championship type squad.

Receivers is probably the least important piece to the puzzle in the overall scheme of the makeup of this type of a team.

Players and name schools you've heard of seem to be all that matter in your brilliant analysis..................I could have asked someone in a bowling alley for a better draft synopsis than the one you posted...........................

Sorry, but your analysis is pure crap.

Thinking LVE is Barbie 2.0 shows you know absolutely nothing about the positions. They played totally different positions with a totally different skill set. You be like, "a white LB is a white LB". No bro, actually learn the difference in positions on the field. Its like saying an X wide receiver is the same as a Y or Z wide receiver because "a wr is a wr".

If you disagree with a pick, that is fine. We all don't always agree on the picks, but at least give a logical, reasoned example to why you do not like the pick. For example, you could have said that LVE had only one year of production at Boise and might be a one year wonder. Or maybe you could have said that due to his height, it is hard for him to get low on opposing players so he doesn't drive them backwards like other LBs do. Or maybe you could mention his medicals and say that you don't want to take a risk on the guy, after all, 2 teams did red card him off their boards.

See the difference? I like the pick, but I just made three logical, reasoned arguments for why the pick might not be good. What I didn't do is say Bobbie Carpenter was white and sucked and this guy is white, so he must suck also, never mind that Bobby was a pure pass rushing LB and LVE is a pure Mike LB. And yes, there is a difference bro, a significant difference.

You misunderstood.....I referenced him to Barbie meaning he will be a bust also. Thanks for your input though, that was a fun read.

Boo hoo. Akers made fun of Dallas...and? That' what makes rivals so great. Enjoy the trash talking and stop whining.

This entire post comes across as whiney.

did you read the first line? I specifically said I didn't like the draft for many reasons.

In other words, notoriety comes with big names , and big conferences. Solid draft, no need to panic. I would say LVE is coming in Bosworthesque, with Urlacher potential. Carpenter was good in college but lacked the drive (not talent) to make it in the NFL. The "A" given to Bo is drenched in bias.

My draft thoughts?? I think the Cowboys STILL have a lot of holes on the roster before they become a complete football team and compete for a SB. Hopefully some of these new guys will work out and become very good starters. But the team could have done a better job of plugging holes and drafting more to need IMO.

Shame on you for not thinking this and every Cowboy draft is an A+. We are surely Superbowl bound after this draft like we were last year and the prior year and the year before, etc....:omg::laugh:

Gotta be a troll job.

Otherwise why would you “hate” the the fourth rounder while admitting you never heard of him?
Naw,more than likely just that egg-shell thin ego/ sense of dominance being scattered, covered & smothered(* kinda like the way you'd order yer' waffle-house hash-browns @3am after the bar bounced you out)
