Ok. Well. I am going into this mock here assuming we do nothing this offseason except trade for Earl Thomas and Re-Sign Martin. This is also based on our pre-draft visitors

Trade for Earl Thomas
Terrance Williams, 2nd round pick next year 4th round pick this year. This makes up for their loss of Richardson and balances the cap a little bit for both of us.

1: R1P19
WR D.J. MOORE
MARYLAND
T-Will replacement. Kid can do it all. And he catches with his hands. He is a perfect compliment to this offense and can replace Dez next year when he is cut.

2: R2P18
G BRADEN SMITH
AUBURN
Plug and play LG. Need

3: R3P17
LB JOSEY JEWELL
IOWA
You are going to notice a trend in the next few picks. LB heavy. We have lost Hitchens, Lee is not dependable to stay healthy, and Jaylon is in his second real year. This is a must pick.

5: R4P37
LB SHAQUEM GRIFFIN
CENTRAL FLORIDA
Makes up for our losses on special teams, has Jerry pick written all over him, and I don't care what anyone says. This kid can flat out play football. His game tape and his combine solidified him for me. Hand or no hand. And another LB

6: R5P34
DL DEADRIN SENAT
SOUTH FLORIDA
A big man who can fill our 1 tech role when the great Brian Price needs a break

7: R6P18
LB NICK DELUCA
NORTH DAKOTA STATE
A tackling machine who can do it all at LB

8: R6P19
CB BRANDON FACYSON
VIRGINIA TECH
Depth

9: R6P34
S TRAY MATTHEWS
AUBURN
Depth

10: R7P18
QB CHASE LITTON
MARSHALL
4th qb for Camp that Jerry wants

Let me know what you think.

Overall I like it.
Think DeLuca in the 6th could be a steal if he could ever stay healthy(same song and dance).
He was up for the Butkus award back in 16, which is impressive for a D2 player.

Not sure we'll go after 3 LBs, but I like each one in the rounds selected.

The reason I went for 3 is because of Nicks injury past. Kid would be a steal in the sixth. If he can stay healthy he is also a beast. So its a win win. Just hedging bets really.

Good overall
I would go DT like Settle in rd 2
I would also not waste a rd 4 pick on Griffen. He may make a play here or there but he can't play lb consistently in the NFL at a high level

Hes a comp pick. I hedged my bet with him with DeLuca. Personally. This kid has been doubted his whole life and proved everyone wrong. I don't think the NFL would be any different.

I think the NFL is way different
I think he'll end up as a special teams player with little time on defense

Too early. Free Agency is not even close to being complete

I think you need to move Jewell up to the 2nd and Senat up to the 3rd. Overall, I like a lot of the players you picked.

Love it. Griffin reminds me a lot of Telvin Smith as far as speed as well.

If I have to take a WR in the first I want DJ Moore.
I like Senat hope his there.
3 LB's I can work with though I thought 2
good job

Good but No trade and replace Jewell.

ET has 1 year remaining on his contract which is already expensive. He will be 29 when the season starts and will want a 4 year extension.

The could get a legit NFL Safety for less $ than ET and not give up any picks.

TWill has not value to other teams. His contract kills any value he might have in a trade.

They could have signed Kurt Coleman (3 year, 18M). He played though an knee issue in 2017 and his stats were down, but his passes defensed and INTs were really good in 2015/2016.

They could sign Tre Boston now.

Pass coverage is critical for modern 4-3 LBs. Jewell is a very limited athlete. His size/speed ratio is terrible and he appears to be a short armed type player.

Always love your assessments on pretty much everything except the WR who shall not be named

I really like the fact that you can argue your point and even if some heated exchanges occur, you don't take it personally. It indicates good character.

There are a few posters that have screamed at me and I've screamed back (internet screaming) that I now respect and I think they respect me.

@Nightman comes to mind.

I'm over the top on Dez but there is this particular group (not you) of posters that are even more over the top in defending Dez and blaming everyone else for his issues. They ALL also happen to hate my views on another subject; therefore their replys to me are extremely vile.

Oddly some people see the Dez issues as similar to Mike Irvin's issues; however, Irving is top 5 in favorite Cowboys for me (Erik Williams is #1).

I would really like Moore if they could trade back and still get him.

I watched some Sutton game footage last night. He just doesn't get enough separation. He is good at everything else, but I just don't think he is a good fit here. He might be a Star with the Patriots and their rub routes but I think the Cowboys should avoid him.

The only big battles we had were over Dez but I trust your cap stuff and your local knowledge helps us fans like me that live far away

And that is the biggest problem I have with this place...... I grew up in DC, then lived in Ravens country, moved to Boston after college and now I am back in Maryland...... I get nothing but smack from Commanders, Eagles, Ravens and Pats fans 24/7 because I wear my colors loud and proud

I just hate hearing the same juvenile negative shtick around here from long time posters 24/7 like @Alexander and @Risen Star and @Beast_from_East .... this is Cowboyszone..... act like it

I think you need to move Jewell up to the 2nd.

Love it all.
Would love it even more getting Moore in th first after a trade down.

So would I. Unfortunately with the draft being in Dallas and us having one of the worst FAs I've ever seen, Jerry is going to be making a splash. The only direction we are trading in is up.
